  1. Yeah, the wattage seems to be "incandescent equivalent", 150W of LED is lighthouse bright.
  2. Yeah, ours were just over a grand a pop in 2020. Ours are the "150W" version (actually about 15W of LEDs), good illumination for the driveway mounted on our electricity poles.
  3. We have several of these, sadly the original Lazada item is no longer available but there are a number of similar items. The plus for us is that they come apart easily to replace the batteries, although they're still going strong on the original packs after 2 years.
  4. Mine too, the white plates fitted at the dealer (cars mind, not bikes) ???? Other experiences may vary
  5. Should have told them it was for an EV ????
  6. Certainly, in the UK the term "ELCB" is now reserved for the older Voltage-Operated ELCB devices (not permitted for new installations) or for earth-leakage devices in HV systems. But we all understand the terminology. Since we seem to have descended into anarchy this thread is Closed.
  7. A bit of both. MG won't install their 7kW charger unless you have either: - An existing 30/100 supply. or A separate 15/45 solely for the EV charger. PEA were offering a second supply with the option of ToU (Time of Use) metering for cheaper off-peak charging, not sure if that offer still stands.
  8. Any decent hardware store should be able to provide you with something (take a photo from the Net with you). BUT You can get a dedicated machine with water cooling and a guide fence for a grand or so on Lazada. Is it worth messing about with a less than ideal solution?? EDIT We have a little Ryobi which cuts tiles, concrete slabs, concrete (for chasing out pipes) or Shera board, and it came with a small circular saw blade which I've never used (we have a "proper" circular saw). If you want to cut curves a small angle-grinder with a diamond disc is your friend, it can also cut or grind steel (use it to sharpen the mower) and sand wood (a bit vicious in my hands to be honest) with the relevant disc installed. ALWAYS wear eye protection!!!
  9. There're a couple of trees in the background that could be the second or third coming
  10. It shouldn't be rocket science. Note that without the add-on you are probably exporting anyway as the inverter has no way of knowing where its generated energy is going. The add-on allows you to STOP export (most important that the meter man doesn't see it going in reverse). You can check easily by turning off all the loads in your house on a nice sunny day and observing the meter disk. If it goes in the opposite direction to the arrow then you are exporting.
  11. Attention all World Cup supporters. The Qatari male headdress is called a "ghutra", it is a little-sheet. It is not a towel or a rag! Please do not insult our hosts by calling them "towel-head" or "rag-head"!
  12. I'm sure you really mean gigabit From https://www.tp-link.com/th/home-networking/deco/deco-x90/#specifications
  13. He doesn't need to; it turns out it's from a previous entry and wasn't removed when he departed. Just lose the TM6 and all is good.
  14. I doubt you will have problems, but I'd lose that old TM6 departure card (they usually remove them when you leave the country). I'm sure some immigration officers do things like this to put the wind up tourists who they think are staying too long or something. Must give them an ego-trip!
  15. Does this mean that TM6's are back in service again?
  16. Sounds like a plan. Ensure you have plenty of beer, UK sparkies run on beer! Do let us know what he says ????
  17. I wouldn't worry about the 12V downlighters. If your storage heater is properly grounded and you have plastic pipes I wouldn't worry about that either. The under-counter heater I would put on an RCBO.
  18. OK, did your man connect the blue tail to one of the neutral bars? Also, did he move one of the blue neutral wires (the one that feeds the bar area) to the N terminal of the RCBO? Also, that's a 32A RCBO. For outlets and a few lights 20A would be adequate, I wonder if that's why your man wanted to use 4mm2?
  19. The land office are usually pretty strict on seeing that the $$$ has been paid before they will finalise the transfer. Madam is pretty old-fashioned and likes to see the folding stuff, the land office don't like counting it and are rather happier with a bank-cheque (tax etc paid in cash).
  20. I probably missed this in the news, but I assume (dangerous I know) that the new rules are for cash deposits only.
  21. Nice looking bar are, super view ???? Do you have a photo of the RCBO that was tried? You also need to know which of the neutral wires goes to the bar area. As @sometimewoodworkernoted, I bet the problem with the RCBO was a borrowed/shared neutral. Your man will need to identify which other circuit is sharing the neutral. I do also note that you have no other earth-leakage protection anywhere, I'd be looking at protecting any outside lighting/outlets and your water heaters before worrying about the freezer..
  22. My reason for using 1.5mm on lighting (10A breaker) is purely for mechanical strength, 1mm is a little too easy to break.
  23. Please can you post a photo of what's been installed in your box showing the connections?
