  1. Sorry MJCM, I totally forget about this post. Some quick measurements and schoolboy trig. gives about 3.2o of slope, panels are parallel with the roof and not adjustable. We are about 14o N so the panels are a bit flat for the classic "use your latitude" but they are working just fine.
  2. Yup, and don't forget to bond the inverter ground connections too.
  3. Yeah, that's how I would read it too, but it does follow "When solar energy and batteries are insufficient" - zero solar is also "insufficient". Does it allow you to set the maximum grid charge current (set to the minimum)? It might be worth asking the seller if he knows how it behaves at night.
  4. Size your surge arrestor to whatever the maximum input voltage of your inverter is. 1kV on a 500V input is going to be OK but 800V would be better. For the MCBs, again look at the maximum voltage you are going to use and go over a bit, those 1,000V DC units would be good for pretty much any domestic level string inverter. You can use the same ground for everything, if you have a metal support structure (like our car port) bond to that.
  5. Have a look at the system @007 RED has installed, it's almost exactly what you want to do. Do you intend doing unofficial net-metering (spinning the conventional disc meter backwards) or joining (trying to join talk to @Thaifish) the official feed-in-tariff? (official system is not available to DIYers) Sofar inverters (we have two, a 6kW grid tie and a 5kW hybrid) are not cheap but they are definitely robust and well engineered, they are also IP65 sealed and fanless. If you're going to DIY have a look at my solar car-port thread.
  6. If you have a neon screwdriver (or one of the non-contact live-wire detectors) it should light up on the screw connection to your MCBs and not on the neutral bus bar.
  7. Enough members have found L - N reversal for it to be worrying, including one on a TNC-S service who noticed the kitchen floor over his (buried of course) ground rod was getting warm! It usually happens after a meter swap or some other work involving disconnection at the meter or the incoming side of the main breaker. Definitely not something you want!
  8. @swissie I forget to ask, what device are you using? PC, phone or ...
  9. Yeah, I see that a lot, I've never really worked out what the "pause" symbol actually means.
  10. Dumb question. Do you mean you are being logged out from Asean Now after a period of inactivity? Or something else?
  11. There are zillions of thermal label makers available, this kind of thing:- https://www.lazada.co.th/products/1-brother-p-touch-label-printer-pt-d200-pt-d200-i264213736-s409729326.html Unlike ye-olde-worlde Dymo embossed labels these don't fall off as soon as your back is turned ????
  12. The Uni-t one I have (linked above) is marked as Cat-II / Cat-III (the probes are just Cat-II)
  13. You need https://www.lazada.co.th/products/8-2021-i2755653306-s10008709057.html I bought a set last time that happened to me, of course it's never been needed ???? There are cheaper options which are specifically for busted pipe fittings https://www.lazada.co.th/products/life-tools-4-6-i3845266711-s14670160254.html
  14. Yeah, I have 35mm2 vehicle battery cable on the high current bits.
  15. It's a grid-tie inverter so there's no "out" connection. Your manual is correct ????
  16. Yup, both the Fluke in that post and the earlier UNI-T one (the one I have) have continuity buzzers.
  17. It means don't ground the + or - side of the panels, you should still ground the metalwork of course. Also don't ground either pole of your battery, in fact don't gayly scatter grounds around, only ground terminals marked as "ground" or Grounded modules are rare these days anyway, any panel you buy will be just fine. All high-frequency inverters have the same warning hidden somewhere in the dogumentation.
  18. 555 Love it ^^^ I've found the Thai banking system superb for 99.99% of the time, transfers (even international) are very rapid and I've had no major issues. And then the 0.01% happens and the world explodes!!
  19. One member (IIRC Bandersnatch?) invariably has zero usage as he runs off grid 99.9% of the time. PEA have replaced the meter several times thinking it's faulty. PEA even know that he has off grid solar but still zero usage = busted meter.
  20. Two things never to do when doing "unofficial" net-metering (spinning the meter backwards) Never actually go into net export (lower meter reading than last time) Never let the meter reader see the meter running backwards We seem to have stabilised at consuming about 150kWh from PEA each month which doesn't seem to be attracting attention. Despite our peak in 2020 being 10 times that
  21. That it has a CT suggests that it can export at least some energy. Could be a good buy at the price.
  22. I've fixed the misquote (removed it) ???? I've seen the forum software do this in the past too, it gets confused somehow.
  23. I'd go with the 800V unit then.
  24. "Proper" electric fencers for cattle etc. use a battery or low voltage power supply and a unit akin to a vehicle ignition coil. They generate a high-voltage pulse every few seconds, so if you pee on one there's time to get going before you get a belt up the ...
