  1. Look very, very carefully to see how it's done ????
  2. VAF-G works and can be run unprotected in ceiling / roof spaces although most homes are wired in THW singles running in conduit for additional rodent protection. SK Universal can supply pretty much anything you want by mail order http://www.sk-wires.com/en/
  3. After applying your epoxy and before it sets, wind in the male with loads of tape. That way you stand a chance of getting it out next time without busting out the wall.
  4. .... and for those who have absolutely no idea What The Flip we are on about ...
  5. Today's small gardening task was to take down a fairly large (higher than the house gutter) Magnolia tree that had drowned in the flooding. Magnolias don't like wet feet at all I have no "Before" photos but it was pretty sad anyway, I hoped it was going to make it, but then all the leaves fell off ???? So, after operations with our baby 11.5" chainsaw (the biggest you can own here without a logging licence) and our 3HP mulcher we have:- A stump, A couple of logs and a small pile of branches that are too big for the mulcher, And a stack of chippings to mix in with the lawn clipping compost. There's something strangely theraputic about feeding branches into the mulcher and seeing them reduced to chippings, one could imagine feeding ... Further chopping next week to make more barbie kindling, not sure about the logs yet, maybe let them dry out and make something. Will have to level the stump so I don't fall over it, but I don't think the tree will be replaced, shame really as it made a nice smell.
  6. Thai solution, more tape! Did the female get damaged removing the old fitting?? If not, more tape, a LOT more than you think is needed and then some! If the insert in the wall is brass moulded into the PVC then Amerkem Type 51 is very effective, but it's not cheap and don't use it on PVC threads.
  7. And still space for more should it prove necessary Very nice job!
  8. For Android users there's also a handy app called APKExtractor which will make an installable .APK from an app on your existing phone. Handy if you don't have access to the source of the original app.
  9. They are very low pressure so there's really no hazard in bashing a hole in it with a large nail. Then just put in the regular trash. Put the nail through a piece of wood if it makes you feel safer (and you gain a handy self-defence weapon too).
  10. Unsmoked version here, I'm sure adding some liquid-smoke to the cure would work pretty well. https://www.localfoodheroes.com/salt-corned-beef/ We don't eat beef so I can't test ????
  11. if you don't want to turn the lights off in the middle of the night a photo-switch is, IMHO, the best solution. All our outside lights are either on photo switches or are controlled by the output of their solar panels.
  12. Thai Yazaki is a well known local brand, you do tend to get what you pay for. I have some (very cheap) Triple-N 4mm VCT that's definitely under size! 200m is a lot of flex, what's your application? VCT isn't really the stuff for a house installation.
  13. You are definitely not going to want to lug that from Bang Sue MRT (under ground) to Bang Sue Red Line (elevated).
  14. The BTS then bus ^^^ would be my choice (or BTS then taxi). When (if) the "Three Airports" line gets going rail access will become more convenient, but unless you have direct access to an ARL station you will still need to change trains.
  15. Not directly. You could:- Ride the BTS to MoChit Swap to the MRT and ride to Bang Sue Then swap to the Red Line for Don Mueang Note that the Red Line is still officially under test so it's free but the schedule may be variable. Revenue service should be at the end of this month.
  16. Not sure about Chantaburi, it was CW that I heard were checking vax on entry. I don't use CW immi now, but I understand you can sign in if you don't have the relevant apps and digital certs. I expect Chantaburi would be the same if they are actually checking (our local office aren't but the waiting area is outside). Take your Aussie vax docs with you anyway.
  17. That was my immediate thought on readying that post. I had to go back to the clip to verify that the cement truck was indeed stopped at a light as I originally thought.
  18. Nasty, very nasty. Any indication on the fate of the car occupants?
  19. Yup. Even when the appliance says (in Thai) "this appliance must be earthed!"
  20. The 12V isolated isn't going to kill anyone, any fault likely to cause issues to the pool occupants (transformer failure) would be detected by the RCD on the 220V side.
  21. Correct, a leak on the 12V side wouldn't be reflected across the transformer. It's certainly possible, whether such a device actually exists is another thing altogether. A leak on the LV side isn't going to present a hazard to the occupants of the pool (the 12V isn't ground referenced anyway) and probably won't upset the lighting either unless a unit is full of water in which case you'd probably notice. Any specific worry??
