Barring the immense traffic nowadays, commuting and the obvious bizarre shenanigans that one routinely witnesses on Thai roads, I generally enjoy driving here. Have done many road trips over the years (bikes and cars) and greatly enjoy it when compared with the angst and utter boredom of driving back home in the 21st century.

A Thai guy was caught touching up my bike seat a while back in full view of the restaurant proprietor and customers. He actually worked there and had been on the yaba by all accounts and didn’t know what he was doing. They called his brother to take him away. Poor fella.

Agree, Bob. I went there for the last time around 2022/23. Never again. It was a laugh as a young un for a couple nights, but to live there? each to their own and there are nice areas around and about, for sure, and some very nice moobahns etc. But Pattaya proper (i.e. the beach etc) is a proper S hole.

Exactly! It’s only governments and the proper rich that take real issue with it. Has continued economic expansion helped us over the last few years? Everything is more expensive, and life in general has only gotten harder for everybody but the rich. Peoples the world over should be aiming for half their population and China and India should get the ball rolling. 😉 Regards Thailand’s pop halving in a few decades, I’m sure smiling donkey’s brothers will make up the shortfall when they eventually invade.

In all my travels around the world, I’ve never had much joy with them. Find them pretty arrogant, but then I could have just been unlucky on every occasion. Thailand does tend to attract the dregs of western society, however (along with decent folk of course) and this a$$ has done us all a disservice. Deport the first, jail the second.

The F-35B in particular. Got pretty close to one at Yeovilton a few years ago. That is one loud dude.
