Have seen lots on the roads over the years, never forget one going down a road on my motorbike a big 6 feet one walking down towards me, I just slowed down passed it on the other side of the road, not at all bothered just carried on down the road. As I said you are thinking OTT, have you ever seen one? -

Thailand Cuts Diesel Prices Amid Global Oil Price Drop
kickstart replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Why because regular gas, or gas hole prices are higher, though tax, as they are basically helping subsidize n diesel prices, the years I have been here gas hole has nearly always been about 10 baht dearer than diesel. Because about 90%? of all Thai goods are moved by trucks on the road any increase in diesel price would and to inflation, that happened 15 years ago when gas hole hit 43-44 baht/liter diesel was not far behind, that put another point on inflation. -
Solar powered water well pump question
kickstart replied to Dario's topic in Farming in Thailand Forum
We put a system back in May, our pump wis 1600 Watt each of our panels is 400 watts, each one was 3500 ,baht the guy who did all the buying and fitting said we needed 6 panels ,which we got first time on start-up we got a fault code come up, saying too much voltage /power ,so we disconnected two panels now no problem. As for pump, ours is a 3 inch pump ,which I put on a reducer making it now two inch ,works well ,the reason was, we are pumping 200 meters ,thinking that distance and water volume the pump would not pump all that water ,I think I am wrong, as said another AN member who knows more than me ,saying friction on the smaller boar pipe slows the water flow ,but buying new 3 inch pipe plus all the joins/fittings will cost 20 000 baht plus, as opposed to the 8 500 baht for the 2 inch pipe. But the pump with the 2-inch pipe can work with a 2inch sprinkler with a about 25-meter radius which is ok, but soon as a cloud appears the radius drops to 15 meters. Normalee starts up at about 9-9.30 am.it can keep going until 4-30 pm,as has been said about 7 hours day. -

Thailand’s Medical Insurance Rules Confuse Tourists

Like, 700 GBP ,or about 30 000 baht to repair a motorcycle, it does not say what the bike was, if it was a big bike, that could be right, but I would say it was a Honda Wave type bike. I would say our Somchie would fix the bike for less than 10 000 baht, using new and secondhand parts. -
Govt Set to Review Drone Regulation Amid Agricultural Push
kickstart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As for red tape, have never asked a drone operator if he has a license or anything. I would say this being Thailand, no one has a license. One thing a drone, the battery packs, generator, and charger for the batteries can cost 350 000 baht, not cheap. The fields in Thailand would have been too small for an airplane. -
Govt Set to Review Drone Regulation Amid Agricultural Push
kickstart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In my area Drons are very common used for spraying corn, Fall Army Worm is now a big problem in corn crops, also applying fertilizer to crops. spraying fungicides in rice crops, been about for 3 the price for hire has come down too, now about 80baht/Rie, almost cheaper than using a tractor ,and you do not get the crop damage with drones. Photo of a drone in a corn crop. -
Talk of it being humid, the years I have been here the humidity over the past month has been high 70-80 % often, nonmale it is still the rainy season (I am in Lopburi province) but it seems to be done this year, we did have 64 mm rain over 3 days 2 weeks ago, as to say that is it for this year, which it seems to be. Looking forward to the easterly winds blowing, that will be the start of the cool season, rice farmers will be glad to, it is the cool dry winds that dries the rice crop before harvest.

Thais in our area say they are 2 seasons in Thailand, Ruedo Ron, hot, and Ruduo Ron Mark, very hot.

Amorim has never managed a UK PL club, he was taking about the job at West Ham when Moyes was still manager, a bit different from teams in Portugal, as you said not the right guy, but listening to the radio today, he does seem to be favorite. Whoever they get, will move in bring a few players with him, sell some other players, at a loss, they might win something, after a couple of years he will go, it is just a big merry go round. same with most PL clubs. Problem is, since Fergie left the game has changed more money involved, finding another Fergie like looking for hen's teeth.

You might be luck in buying some good bread in a city, look in to making your own a bread, bread maker from Lazada/Shoppe , whole meal flour you can buy line, might be able to buy it in town, white bread flour readily available. I have been making my own bread for a couple of years now, most certainly better than Farmhouse.

Our house we built 13 years ago, with wooden windows, the wood is Mie Dang, in Thai, known to us as Red Hard Wood. insets will not/ can eat it ,too hard, the house doors are Teak, will add, the pair at the front of the house do warp during the wet season, but still can shut /open OK.,the wood ,so the guy said, come from CM. The windows never have been a problem, due to change of climate /season, still open as before. In this age of all plastic windows and doors, it is nice to see some wooden ones.

If it is of any help, the Pasak dam in Lopburi was built, for irrigation for locale farmers, and help with the flooding of Bangkok and Ayutthaya ,the Pasak river comes downs from Pechabun ,200 km from the dam. The Pasak River flows in the Chow paya river at Bang Par Inn, in Ayutthaya province, that has been the problem, you have two rivers, almost full all flowing in too Bangkok. Now back to the Pasak dam ,on my door step ,was they last week ,now about 86% full ,normal now it is full ,and they open the dam gates and let the water go ,so thay say to stop flooding around the dam, now the gates are barely open not a lot of water is flowing (not good fishing year),so less water is flowing in to the Pasak and Chow Paya rivers les coming down to you. But, Thai TV was up at Charnat province a few days ago the big dam they is about full, some water will have to be let go, that will be coming your way. But here in Lopburi the felling that the rainy season is done for this year, bar the odd few days of rain,i.e. 64 mm of rain last weekend.

Good points but first he will have to get the moisture of the crop down, most rice is harvested at about 30% moisture, wet, for any storage the moisture needs to be 15%, any more the crop will heat up and spoil. Drying rice here is by spreading it on a concrete pad and turning it all the time, if the OP has say 20 ton that is a big aera of concrete, and a lot of turning, depending on the weather it could take 5 days, then bagging up and storing. As has been said storage has to be good, to keep the weather and rats out.

Know the road very well, straight two lanes either way, road in good condition for Thailand, as has been said going to fast, looks like over taking both cars in the middle of the road and meet. Another 3km up the road they are widening the road and are going to put barriers down the middle of the road, that should help. About 6 years ago I was on that road come across a bad accident 3 cars, one guy looked well dead, something will never change in Thailand, one is RTA 's,

The OP has not said where he is, is his area a Palm Oil area? if he does decide to sell the fruit, will he have a local market, or will it be a long road trip to sell his crop. My area is Lopburi ,not a Palm oil growing area, and we do have a few small plantations about, they will have a very long journey to find a market.

Solar powered water well pump question
kickstart replied to Dario's topic in Farming in Thailand Forum
I do not know where you come from, but no one would drill a bore hole 300 meters in Thailand, one no need, the max I know of is 100 meters, and would say that most companies that drill bore hole would not have the pipe work of the power of the equipment to drill down to that depth. We live in rural area our water comes from a bore hole, it is a about 2 years old now never been a shortage of water, and this year's hot season was hot we have had water pressure issues, mainly due to pump problems and burst water pipes -
A banana tree can be a quite big, finding a chipper that would chop them, most chippers are self-feeding, the plant/branch go's in between two rollers that are spring mounted and will open as the tree/branch is feed in ,if the tree branch is to big it will not feed in ( you could take the spring out make feeing easier), banana trees are soft easy to chop, could you cut the bigger ones down the middle? ,they would then fit in a chipper blockage should not be a problem. For chippers try patipong.com, they are in Pathum Thani north of Bangkok, they is/was videos of their chippers . Also look at past posts on chipper shredders on AV.
