I'm always trying to relive my youth. The problem is I no longer get asked to prove my age when I buy some booze... In fairness, I'm still exactly the same person I was then only my hair is a little greyer.

They much prefer to buy meat from the local markets because the thousands flies crawling over it apparently adds extra flavor.

Get a dog. They are notoriously not fond of postmen and enjoy chasing them down the street.

I don't actually hate anything. However, I do dislike the following... The appalling standard of driving on the roads. How so few people are big enough to accept the blame for their mistakes. Thai interpretations of western food. Pizza is a classic example. Lao Khao, of any bootleg alcohol that is responsible for so many meaningless deaths every year. Thai soap operas.

I'm just about to start getting everything together to renew my marriage extension and it's suddenly dawned on me that my new, two month old passport only has about 5 pages that need to be photocopied. The transfer stamps, main ID page, 90 day, arrival card and TM 30. Now as we know, immigration love lots and lots of photocopies! So, can someone kindly confirm whether or not I need to photocopy all the pages in my old passport for this extension? Logically I shouldn't have to..... For the record, I will be renewing in Chiang Mai. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps you should cut her some slack. In her world, men are ignorant and naive and their sole purpose is to pay for everything. If they didn't do that she and all her little minions would be out of a job.

Who decides? On paper, the millions of Thai citizens. In reality, the privileged senators. It makes the whole election process a complete farce.

Why does Thailand even bother to have elections? A complete waste of time for all those who turn up to vote. I doubt that a true people's government will ever become a reality here.

Has it occurred to anyone that the two girls might just be guy's bodyguards?

As you helped the guy today, I'm willing to bet that if there is a next time you're not going to just sit there and watch someone choke to death. There are plenty of people out there who would be eternally grateful that you have saved their life.

Could you not insist that she applies for a license first?

You must bear in mind that on this forum we only here about Thai/Farang marriages that break down and turn volatile. However, we never hear about "were did it all go right marriages" which statistically far outweigh those that go pear shaped.

I recently received a new British passport and no letter from the embassy was required to transfer my extension of stay stamps to the new passport. At immigration there is just a form to fill in and all the usual photocopies of both passports. I picked up my new passport from the VFS office in Chiang Mai early afternoon, then went straight to immigration and waited about half an hour for them to complete the process.

Just a couple of quick questions... The last I heard it now takes one month to process free residency certificates at CM. Is this still up to date information? Also, is it correct that CM immigration only except applications for residency certificates in the morning? I know you have to go upstairs. Thanks in advance ????
