I am looking for a basic mobile phone with buttons. I do NOT want a touch screen. I have identified Nokia and Samsung as the best candidates but I cannot find a shop in the Chiang mai area. (I am between Hang Dong and Sanpatong). Lazada accounts are playing silly buggers and insist on sending me a "verification code" which never arrives.
Local knowledge please, where are the nearest shop(s) selling the cheaper range of mobile phones?
Almost every day.Wife is a very good cook and knows just how to use the spices. as a result I very rarely have to complain about it being too spicy. However she does by in Khao Soi and Pad Thai.
Wife has just recovered from a bad kidney abscess. I have made a batch of chicken and leek soup with celery for her but youngest Sister-in-Law (who knows everything and is never wrong) is vehemently opposed to letting wife eat it. It will inflame her kidney again!
The only thing I can find on Google is that EXCESS protein is difficult for kidneys to process. But Si-i-L insists "all doctors know this".
I am very sceptical. What is the truth?
I know it's a bit out of your way, but going South on the Hang Dong Road from the Airport Junction, on the left, ie.,East side of the road, is Dara Cosmetics. Behind there is a pet food shop which has Royal Canin and other brands,
Over the years, I have accumulated about a hundred empty glass bottles ,mainly beer, and I have been informed that there is a bottle disposal scheme in Chiang mai which will pay me a small sum for them. But, where is it? Directions please.
More than 10 years ago I bought a battery hedge trimmer from Lidl. It came with 2 batteries. One fully charged battery could cut 75 metres of hedge varying from 15 to 2 metres high and was still running well. I cut my hedge 3 times a year and occasionly lent it to a neighbour for his hedge. After 3 years the batteries were still good but the blades had to be resharpened.
CAT3 approaches require the crew to practise one every so often,(I cannot remember just how often), it is probable that at least one of the crew was out of currency.
As I said, I keep all receipts and suspected it from the beginning. In reply to KhunLA, I did not need to speak to any " Higher up", the clerk at the payments counter denounced it immediately on sight.
On Saturday I found a text message on my 'phone purporting to be from the PEA. It was in Thai but a family member translated it and it was a notification to settle my electricity bill immediately as it was 2 months in arrears. I keep all receipts and I knew I was up to date.
This morning I went to the local PEA office in Sanpatong with my folder of receipts and showed the staff the message, it was immediately denounced as fake.
I also discovered that my neighbour had also found a letter in shape of an official looking form in the box which is used by the meter reader to leave the bill. This was also denounced as fraudulent.
My text message require me to log on to a website to settle the bill.
The URL is "www.pea.vz-th.com " and the telepohone number it came from is +66660269886.
I do not know if the attempted scam is local or widespread, but I share it as a warning.
I too had my blood pressure taken at a dental clinic. It appeared to be high,so I hopped on a songthaew and went to the local lhospital and had it atken by a very pleasant nurse using a cuff and stethoscope. I was normal!.

Granddaughter is at Mae Fah Luang University and stays at Beyond condo. Her birthday is in 2 weeks. I am in Chiang mai but I want to order a cake for her to be delivered on the day. How can I do this remotely from Chiang mai?
Brake pads have a metal tag on them that is designed to contact the disc when the wear reaches its limit. This is what causes tie screech. My old Volvo (1989 model) also had and electrical system which in which the tag completed a circuit and lit up a warning light on the instrument panel.
I am not an expert, but I suggest manually reducing the number of fruits by half before they get to that stage. It may be that the tree is not yet mature enough to support so many to ripeneing
The latest is that an Air Purifier was delivered to our home and I took it into the sitting room to open the package. Sister-in-Law went ape and ordered me to take it outside and open it there. Now she insists on feeding wife a patent food called BOOST by Nestles and a patent chicken essence. These foods only. I think she is paranoid, but any attempt at disagreeing results in an altercation Falangs don't know!
I vaguely recall an article in the consumer magazine "Which" many years ago which dismissed the chicken essence as of no benefit, Home made soup would be just as good.
But I am only an ignorant Falang who knows nothing.
