Is anyone else irritated by the in-vogue use of the word, 'Impact'? Have the words 'Effect and Affect' disappeared from the English language? In news reporting Impact is continually used. Impact I thought was to hit or strike something. It was suggested that many do not know how to use Effect or Affect. In the written word maybe this could be the reason. But there is no excuse for using Impact in verbal conversation and news reporting. I'm going to have a beer or ten. It won't have much of an impact. Unless I fall over maybe.😉

I agree. Now, the chickens are coming home to roost, but is it too late? Legal immigrants who are prepared to accept British rules and culture should be made welcome. Illegal immigrants and those who do not accept British culture, and disregard the rules should be deported. If those at his protests waving cans of beer were closed down by the stewards it would avoid accusations of the legitimate protest being a mob of drunken louts. The isolated few tarnish a genuine peaceful protest. Strength to Tommy's elbow. But don't make this threat to UK's culture an excuse to bring back what happened in Nazi Germany in the 1930s.
