  1. Always? Yes. But my main point was why tear up both sidewalks at the same time? At least give pedestrians one sidewalk that is not torn up. Logically speaking(I know that is in rare supply here) complete one side first and then work on the other side. I know. Stop using Logic.
  2. Thanks for for the photo. Slowly and i means very slowly I see some progress. Maybe around September or October is when I see the project being completed?
  3. When did I complain about the cost? I stated I generally do not hail rides for such short distances even with the current condition of the sidewalks. Of course if there was a monsoon then I might reconsider? If this mean that I am complaining about the cost then I would not disagree with you because this is your interpretation of what I had said.
  4. Ok 6x2= 12 12x4 = 48 per month. Anyway I am not going to hail a ride for a 2KM round trip even with the sidewalks in it's present condition.
  5. I'm flying CNX-ICN-LAX and back in mid September on KAL for $950.
  6. Been traveling internationally for over 30 years. I first came to BKK 20 years ago because Emirates Airlines had cheap fares from Dubai. Dubai was the main vacation starting point for anyone in Iraq or Afghanistan. Then I discovered BKK and many parts of LOS were much cheaper then the other places I was considering. I would disagree with esteemed CEO of Agoda and if LOS maintains it's status as a relatively cheap holiday location then it does not have to change.
  7. is she still in town? Does she have an Onlyfans account? "Viral Vixen"? Are we back in 1955?
  8. It would actually be 24 times a month so $30. Depending on the ride I normally give Grab drivers a 20 baht tip.
  9. Oh, I have and continue to. Never stop learning.
  10. On this one I can't blame old Nate. In many parts of the world Police and Fire are hired to be in tv shows, movies and even silly youtube vdieos. It is up to the chief or the commanding officer to decide if any project is appropriate or not? I wonder how much the pay was?
  11. Nothing? It depends on perspective. You know what that means?
  12. Thanks. I haven’t had my first beer yet.
  13. Wow, you know me so well based upon a few comments. I do not judge the choices people make because I do not judge people. I do not know anyone on this forum. This is a good thing. Also, what do you know about my life, my economics, or my choices? The answer is nothing. Conversely I know nothing about you. This is also a good thing. I am wake. I am real I live in reality. It’s not like I have to prove anything but your judgement about or my life and experiences are: Completely wrong.
  14. Not so easy to cultivate. Walking on this particular stretch of road is not really a choice; It is a necessity because I live in this part of town and not all outings are far enough to justify ride in a vehicle. I never said “Mind over matter is monk thing”. I just it used that example to say not all can master it. Very few can actually master it. In my professional experience the phrase “grace under pressure” was the mantra. In the end it is just another case of “we agree to disagree”. Everyone has an opinion.
  15. Always ensure the first version of the story is airtight. The best spokespeople usually reply at the first news conference: “no comment until the investigation has been completed”. I believe the “misunderstanding” explanation has been overplayed.
  16. Great advice. If I ever get run over by a moped I will keep that in mind. “Mind over matter”. Of course anyone can say this to others but does mean one can actually practice it? Even some Monks can’t exhibit “mind over matter”.
  17. So you have walked 26,000 Kilometers on Huay Kaew Road? I walk 2 Km round trip 6 times a week. So in terms of numbers you win.
  18. I adapt and complain at the same time. It’s called Multi-Tasking. I walk it 6 days a week. How many times have you walked this part of Huay Kaew Road? At least when I was in Afghanistan there were few sidewalks so it was not an issue. When I was in Haiti it was so crowded one could rarely see an actual sidewalk. Made the mistake of paying for a yearly gym membership(not a smart move in LOS). As the saying goes “no refund for membership, sorry”.
  19. Grab or a Tuk Tuk for a 1 Kim ride 6 days as week?
  20. Ahh Ha. Sarcasm, a concept that I truly appreciate. Also, I value your comments because you must be a brilliant Civil Engineer?
  21. ? Huay Kaew road is not the world. It is one messed road/sidewalk.
  22. But the problem is the gym is on HK road. No back way to get there. There is a back way to Nimman.
  23. Are there any retired Civil Engineers or Urban Planners out there? I ask because both the north and south sidewalks on Huay Kaew Road from Ram Hospital to Maya have been torn up and are at various stages of improvement. I am all for civic improvement but I have zero experience in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning and I thought it seems unusual for both sidewalks to be unwalkable or difficult to navigate at the same time. The only option for those who walk is to get on the street either with or against vehicle traffic. I have never seen anything like this anywhere else I have been to.
  24. Ok great idea. So no pork or anything with pork or pork oil. Also, some fermented foods could be a No Go because sometimes fermentation could result in Alcohol. I was in Japan some years ago and a group from an undisclosed country west of KSA got really upset because they could taste soy sauce? I said "What the Heck"? The angry guests said soy sauce contains alcohol because it is fermented. I never knew that. As the saying goes "might not be worth the trouble"? Of course a Chang or Singha with dinner would out of the question (unless nobody is watching).
  25. Each will have differences in the “Amazing Thailand” experience. Many good, some bad and some in the middle.
