Have you ever broken a Thai lady's heart?
alien365 replied to RamenRaven's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
If you hover over his name, you will see he joined in 2018. His number of posts is not unusually low for that period. One of my neighbours has had her heart broken by several western men who if anything seemed to sponge off her rather than bring anything to the table. They were mostly from Scandinavian countries. She no longer believes that western men are better than Thai men. -
Is this Dengue vaccination a good idea?
alien365 replied to scubascuba3's topic in Health and Medicine
I might take it next year as the high risk season usually runs until October. I've had two bouts already, so I'm not keen on a third. -
Living the high life drinking a bottle of Leo or two waiting for the F1 practice 2 session to start in Monza. Yesterday though I tried a few Thai craft beers branded M32. Tried the hoppy pale lager, new England IPA and their IPA. I thought they were pretty decent. oh and a Coopers.

Is the dealership insurance for a new car good enough?
alien365 replied to Sandboxer's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
My 1 year insurance is about to run out with Tisco for my Ranger. They quoted over 20k so I asked for a 5k deductible. They said they don't have policies with deductibles????. Back to Roojai I go then at the end of the year for less than 10k (with the 5k deductible). The total sum insured is 100k less but there's better coverage for everything else. It won't be able to cover the cost of crashing in to a Rolls Royce, but a Merc won't be a problem. -
Dogs in my area don't seem to bother with me. If I am out walking, I tend to have a long scythe/sickle with me lol (I'm not sure of its exact name. It's about 180cm in length). I carry it as I am usually chopping some branches down or getting some fruits off the trees. I've met many packs of dogs while on my travels (without looking like some sort of grim reaper), but have yet to experience ones trying to bite me.

If the lady couldn't lift her bag into the storage, why did she not ask one of the other members of her group? Or should I say why didn't the men in her group offer to do it for her? I guess because they expect someone below them in status to do it. The 'servant' told her to do it herself and she couldn't handle that.

Worst Joke Ever 2024
alien365 replied to warfie's topic in Jokes - Puzzles and Riddles - Make My Day!
Comedy takes many different forms and is not meant to be taken seriously. I read his recent one and thought it was unacceptable, while chuckling at the same time. It reminds me of Jimmy Carr's self proclaimed most offensive joke: "If only Africa had more mosquito nets, then every year we could save millions of mosquitoes from dying needlessly of aids. " (if the mods/admin are not happy with this, please delete) He's performing in Bangkok next January if anyone is interested. -
EV sales in Thailand to hit 50,000 despite auto loan regulations
alien365 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That's good for the home charging as well then. I'm the type who likes 100% at the start of the day, but for an ev, I'd want to look after the battery. Sounds like that's no longer an issue. -

Is charging to 100% encouraged in these types of batteries? -
TCC Calls for Restoration of Universal Pension Scheme
alien365 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I get a bit fed up hearing claims to tax luxury goods more. What they need to do is seriously tackle all those working who don't pay any tax. How many of the local restaurants or food sellers actually pay tax? Taxi drivers? Will they expect a pension when they have dodged the system for most of their lives? -
Is it okay to walk naked chest in the streets?
alien365 replied to Goodboybkk's topic in General Topics
I don't know how people can do it. I'm too insecure about my body to walk around a beach area topless, never mind in a city. -
Odd. I can't imagine many men weeing standing up first, sprinkling the seat a bit, then proceeding to turn round and sit down to do the rest of their business. They pull their kegs down, sit and get comfy.
-
I'd have thought so. When you need to poo, do you not wee sitting down?
-
I choose toilets that use more water. The water efficient ones just don't seem to work properly. I also consider the shape of the toilet to avoid splashback. Had to change a toilet not so long ago as sitting down on one while weeing caused it to bounce back and wet by balls etc. You need a bit of space up front to avoid this and a deeper gradient.

Does this not make you one of the low quality customers eating low quality food that you despise? I personally don't have any issues with them and I definitely don't want anybody telling me what I can or cannot eat.

I wouldn't say the car itself is dangerous, more it's size in relation to others on the road. For city driving it's an excellent car, on the highways it's fine too unless you drive like a moron or have someone behind you not paying attention. Its also comfortable on hills, uphill and downhill. One of the reasons I bought one a decade ago was because it had both driver and passenger airbags, not that common in eco cars at the time. I changed it for a ranger in the end but still miss the brio.
