Are you absolutely sure it is a drain pipe. If it was a glued cap it may possibly part of some pest control pipework. The other possibility it is a soakaway, rather than part of the water system, and the other end needs clearing. If not on main drainage a normal drain would go to the grey water tank. You could pour some milk down the pipe and have a look in the grey water tank and see if it is coming through or not. Some years ago I had a similar problem. That was down to the builder not putting enough fall on the pipe and sediment built up restricting flow. That is unlikely on a pipe that has never been used, unless the pipe feeds into another pipe where the restriction is not so evident. I became aware of the washing machine problem when water started to come up the shower drain. I designed my house so I knew where to dig down and correct the problem, may not be so easy if that is the problem. Good luck.

Why Thailand has attracted more foreign tourists than Vietnam
sandyf replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
There seems to be a compulsion on this forum to distort the context. This was the point in question. "Thailand does not want any involvement from foreign countries in the past, present, and future...." Are you trying to make a point that Thailand has never had any involvement with China? As far as the language is concerned there is a historical reason why Chinese dialects are not widely spoken. "The Primary Education Act of 1932 made the Thai language the compulsory medium of education, but, as a result of protests from the Chinese community, by 1939 students were allowed two hours of mandarin instruction per week. State corporations took over commodities such as rice, tobacco, and petroleum and Chinese businesses found themselves subject to a range of new taxes and controls." https://www.mychinaroots.com/places/651547/thailand A change in attitude towards the Chinese came about in 1975. BTW my Thai niece speaks fluent Cantonese. -
Wise formerly Transferwise
sandyf replied to rabiedabruce's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Just some catchup on the website, colour been there for a while. I got my card early 2021 and it is green, when they changed from mastercard. Bit strange when I first saw it, no card No and only name & CVC on the back. Been viewed with suspicion a few times. -
Wise formerly Transferwise

People are hung up on transfers to Thailand but Wise is an international company. I have been using Wise for a couple of years now and make regular payments to companies in the EU and Canada. Europe has always been almost instant but Canada very unpredictable, from a few minutes to a few days. Last payment to Canada in Dec was only about $50 and just on 5 days. Generally speaking the service is excellent. -

Why Thailand has attracted more foreign tourists than Vietnam
sandyf replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In the 30s about 12% of the population of Thailand were Chinese nationals, I would doubt any occupation has reached that level of involvement. Yet expats still question the affinity between Thailand and China. -

Barclays UK On-shore Accounts
sandyf replied to doctormann's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
There is no such legislation. A few years back I received an email from HSBC in Sheffield asking me to attend the branch which I did the next time I was back in the UK about 6 months later. They had picked up on the fact I was using a PO address and said it was bank policy not to service accounts for non residents. I explained the situation and he agreed to maintain the account subject to my pension being paid into the account and required my Thai address and bank account details. Also said the decision was discretionary and could be altered by another manager in the future. -
DLT Smart Queue App for booking licence renewal appointment

There are some on this forum that seem compelled to address a piece of text from a post rather than the context of the post. If I am not mistaken, distorting posts is a breach of the forum rules. -
Paper visa vs E-visa from Ho Chi Minh
sandyf replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No need to be concerned, the Vietnamese and Laos E-visas are intended for short term tourists. When I did a Laos E-visa a few weeks back it would not accept my Thai address, I had to use a UK address. Possibly looking for permanent address consistent with passport. The Thai E-visa is only available to people in certain countries and is a different arrangement altogether in that it covers different types of visa. -
BOI Seeks Private Businesses to Promote LTR Visa Program

But people are more than happy with the way things are done in Thailand, when it suits. Hypocrites or what. -
Yes it was shut for quite a while. I noticed it was open again back in December when my wife was doing her passport at the Avenue. Been many times since it first opened and they have now improved the salad bar, making it an island in the U shaped servery. If you like bacon look for it on the salad bar, next to the french bread. My only gripe with them is they never cook potatoes long enough.

Plane ticket for Schengen visa
sandyf replied to OzMan's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
You have to bear in mind the EU is a lot more tolerant of tourists from this part of the world than others such as the UK. There is no reason why your girlfriend's application would not be successful, subject to requirement, in it's own right without any contribution from you. Any contribution from you only helps to support the application. Schengen visa applications are fairly standard and usually quite straightforward. When we went to Malta a few years back we had to use the Austrian VFS office and this was the requirements from the embassy at the time. For some reason VFS never highlighted the travel insurance requirement. Austria Visa Information - Documents Required.pdf -
DLT Smart Queue App for booking licence renewal appointment
sandyf replied to Brer's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Depends where you go. My wife tried to get me an appointment with the app using my pink card, didn't work. She phoned the DLT and they said all foreigners must make appointment in person. Trotted along to the DLT and just before lunch when we got there, she said can you come back at 2pm, no problem. Saw the video for the first time, prior to the rebuild Chonburi DLT never had a video room. -
Paper visa vs E-visa from Ho Chi Minh
sandyf replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Vietnam is not on the Thai E-visa platform, the only 2 in Asia are China and South Korea. The countries using the E-visa platform are mainly US/European and applying to one of them from Vietnam would not be allowed for someone in Vietnam on a tourist visa. -
Wife Drove Over Neighbour's Dog
sandyf replied to Brewster67's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
Quite. Rule of thumb, if the dog hurts you nobody owns it, if you hurt the dog every Tom, Dick and Harry will try and claim ownership. -

You should comment on what was said, not what you think was said. The OP made a generalised comment and received generalised response. The simple fact is you are incorrect, won't be holding my breath on an apology. -
TM30 submission in person process
sandyf replied to Millian's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I agree with your thinking, I have the T30 receipt in my passport and they always check it. If you are going to do marriage again then your wife should be with you and she could deal with it if the issue is raised. If she is not going to be there I would agree and she should go beforehand and hand it in.
