  1. Siamburi sell lamb and lamb products in their Pattaya shop and also on their online outlet. https://expatfoodsthailand.com/?s=Lamb
  2. And why does anyone wonder why that would come about. I moved up to Sheffield in 1983, initially lived within a stones throw of "The Lane", moved to Burncross for a couple of years and then out to Deepcar early 1989. Both Burncross and Deepcar are fairly close to the main road coming into Sheffield from the Manchester side of Sheffield. In those days it was common practice for visiting fans to park up at a pub in that area and then make a mad dash into town for the kick off. On that particular day I heard of many not leaving the pub till gone 14.30, not a hope in hell of getting there on time. Following the disaster many of the landlords in the area were visited by Liverpool fans and intimidated with most moving away for fear of getting caught up in the enquiry. The police were not entirely blameless but with only half the story coming out at the enquiry they were hung out to dry.
  3. The referendum was a fiasco and yes brexit happened, but I do not need to get over it. Business that has been throttled by red tape, passengers waiting to have passports checked, the people of Northern Ireland, etc etc, are the ones that have to live with it. They will never get over it. Only the naive would think the hidden cost of brexit has not contributed to the current state of the country. Four years of squabbling in parliament and no one with their eye on the ball. Is it any wonder the French threw their hands in the air and allowed the migrant problem to escalate.
  4. I don't remember the British voters voting the referendum bill through parliament, must have missed that bit.
  5. Only the delusional would think luck can stretch that far. I came back from China one time and was out of the airport and on the expressway within 30 minutes of the wheels touching the runway. But why should the better experiences get in the way of a good whinge.
  6. It was quite obvious you were trying to say that an increase less than it should be is not a cutback in your view. People should be grateful for any increase, why should inflation come into it.
  7. Doesn't matter what his views were, he was responsible for putting the Referendum Bill before parliament without a white paper, making brexit another tory fiasco.
  8. So what are you trying to say, that was more than enough, pre pandemic everything was hunky dory, no waiting lists and social care running smoothly.
  9. Tories came in 2010, the brexit vote was in 2016 Are you really trying to disagree with my original point that brexit came about under tory rule. "None of the Tories ever wanted to leave" That statement reinforces my point, when a party votes for something they do not want, they shouldn't be in government.
  10. Apologies, I was under the impression that the architect David Cameron was a Tory.
  11. A few years ago when the home visit suddenly became the norm we had already booked to go away. They rung up the day before to say they were coming but we were not going to be at home. Not a problem, they just came after we got back about a week later.
  12. That is exactly it, they do think you are a fraud until you prove otherwise. I got married in 2008 and have lived at the same address since then but it means nothing and can be quite frustrating. But then my wife has made 11 UK visitor visa applications and each one treated like a terrorist.
  13. No worse than the UK. A couple of years ago I was stood in the T5 transit immigration queue for over 2 hours heading to Manchester, they were seeing people based on how long to the onward flight, a bit sorry for those that had 3 to 4 hours between flights. But then queueing is a national pastime in the UK. As for rattle throwing, UK must have the gold medal, we see every day the Home Office cannot stand criticism. In 20 odd years I have never had to wait more than an hour coming into Thailand.
  14. The tories have been at the helm for 12 years during which time they tried to cut back on everything. Brexit was primarily aimed at cutting back immigration, but failed miserably. The obvious proposal would be a change in government.
  15. We have had them a few times in recent years. The year they brought it in we had already booked to go away and they phoned up the day before, not a problem, just came when we got back over a week later. Last year they phoned up about half an hour before they turned up. All a bit hit and miss, we have had no witnesses required, witnesses have had to be at the house when they came, and last year they went and knocked on the neighbours door, people that have only been here 5 minutes. We didn't have any neighbours when I built the house 14 years ago. Went yesterday, no mention of a home visit so a bit of wait and see.
  16. Watching a series last week, think it was A Friend of the Family and this played at the end of one of the episodes. Those were the days.
  17. Many seem to think it is very easy to go out and buy a new computer, not so when you are getting on a bit. It can be th onset of a period of extreme fustration. A couple of years ago I had to get another and bought a refurbished 10 year old HP Elitebook. Stuck in a bit more RAM and an SSD, good enough for me. Unfortunately it came with Win 10 and that was a tear your hair out job for some time. The ability to remember how to deal with the differences diminishes with age, something some seem to ignore. I am a great believer in sticking with what you know until there is no option. Good luck.
  18. Yes, not a good era for video out, DVI was not going anywhere and HDMI still in its infancy. Lenovo may have opted to drop the port in favour of some of the newer features they were bringing in. I had laptop from around then and that had an S-video port. However there is a workaround, you can get an adapter USB to HDMI to run another monitor from one of the usb ports.
  19. Wow, in all my years never seen a computer that has not had a video output in some form or other. As far as I can see all current Lenovo all in ones have an HDMI output. My old HP laptop does not have HDMI, it has a display port and had to get an appropriate cable. Same with my Lenovo notebook, that has mini HDMI and had to get a cable for that.
  20. I fail to understand why people would prefer to carry a passport than an ID card. When i first registered at the cancer hospital I had no option than to use my passport and I saw the nurse drop it as she carried the documents around the room. When I got the pink card I re- registered and now they slip the ID card into a plastic sleeve and staple it to the docs just like everyone else.
  21. You have been told wrong, Chonburi DLT insist on a residency certificate and also Pattaya I believe. Advantage is in the eye of the beholder. I am registered at the hospital with my Thai ID number and when the pandemic came along the hospital put me on mor Phrom. I was vaccinated at about 9am on the morning the vacine rollout started. I have also had free check ups with mobile health units and participated in the government flu jab program. Of course I am well aware that there are those that would not wish to have anything to do with the state health system so they would see no advantage.
  22. Many have said about getting a new monitor but it looks like an all in one to me. You haven't said where you live but around me there are a few places like Tukcom and Central that have IT areas. I would suggest initially that you take it to be checked as it may be something that can be easily replaced. If however it is the display itself I woulg go along with the previous suggestion that you consider an additional display connected to the HDMI port. I use a small 22 inch TV with my very old HP laptop. The TV cost about 2700 baht whereas a monitor is likely to be about 4500 baht. Unless there are other problems there is no real need to replace the computer side of the device.
  23. For 3 years up until Dec 2021 when sadly my friend passed away I was sharing a google account with him, he was in the UK and me in Thailand. The account was not personal, it was being used to manage a group we both belonged to and I can assure there was no constant bombardment from Google. You are also wrong to think you must have a mobile device, that is the normal default but there is an option for when the mobile device is not available. A few years back I had a Hotmail account stolen and it was quite difficult to recover, if only Microsoft had thought of 2 stage verification.
  24. It is not a problem, every time I go to the UK I am logged in on one device in Thailand and logged in on 2 devices in the UK. If there was activity at both locations at the same time you would get a security alert from Google.
  25. There are 2 questions on the application, first is question 4 4 . Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party * For this you can upload whatever you choose or refer to question 10 The second question 10 10 . Bank statement, showing GBP10,000 minimum, with name & visible * For this you can upload the required statement or refer to question 4. At this point in time there is no clear indication of what London will accept but it wouldn't be out of the question for it to be in line with the 12 month extension. ie £1000/month for question 4 or £10K for question 10. If struggling with the non O and only looking at 4 months may be better to consider other options.
