I've been to England, Scotland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, Malta, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Canada, USA ..... How about you?
I'm sure you know more about American prostitutes than myself, but I'm not surprised that western hookers will do anything with anyone for money.
Me, i'm sticking with ASEAN women.
As an old person (67),
Just cycled 25Km with a pal this morning, I've not much energy left for the rest of the day except sitting on the sofa, posting, listening, watching TV/music/books.
Yesterday, was out to dinner at 7pm (Indian) and drinks in bars, rest of the day sofa.
Remember my dad in his 60s with heart problems, mostly sitting all day, every day, he couldn't even mow the lawn.
Passing the day is what elderly retired people do IMHO, not much energy for anything else.
In Thailand 10kbht ($300) gets me a new detached 3 bed house with walled security.
In the UK, 1kgbp ($1200) might get me something similar without the security.
No other savings required.
BKB cards are processed through TPN (Thai Payment Network), not Mastercard/VISA, and TPN is always a bit iffy for payments outside Asia.
https://www.finextra.com/pressarticle/63290/thai-payment-network-goes-live
"In 2012, the central bank of Thailand stipulated that all local interbank transactions made with local debit cards must be processed locally. Thereafter, the joint venture called TPN was founded in September 2014. Thailand has also planned to create an independent debit card brand TPN and issue UnionPay TPN cards, which will be conveniently used at the global UnionPay network."
Same for my new TTB card last week, took ages to find the 'allow international purchases' on my phone app.
But the good news is Skype reduced my 3 month fee from $22.50 to $18.50 thinking I no longer wanted the service to tempt me back.
I like walking and cycling, it's good for me.
But I have 2 scooters and an old pickup that cost almost nothing to run.
One of my scooters is the latest Honda Click 160i ...... 53KM/ltr, about 3 months old now.
My definition of comfortable,
Roof over my head and food in the fridge, woman I find attractive in my bed.
Plenty of books to read, music to listen and movies/TV to watch.
Happy children, no money worries.
Off cycling when my pal arrives (hope it doesn't rain).
Reading a book (most days)
Cycling in the countryside (tomorrow)
Indian Curry (tonight)
Listening to music (most days)
Seems to me most people only think of spending money.
Apart from the Indian food, almost all the stuff I enjoy doing is free.
Spent several years learning to read, write and speak Thai.
Forgot it all, aside from simple commerce.
Also forgot German, Spanish and French (and I used to teach German and French in high school).
What you don't use, you forget.
just this forum?
I don't even tell my wife my real name, or anything about me at all.
To anyone I meet, anywhere, anytime, I'm John from the UK.
That's all they need to know.
