I tried to open a TMB bank account, they told me 'not for foreigners'. So I asked them why their website was in English. 10 minutes later account opened. I tried to open a Bangkok bank account. They said "not for tourists" I said, "I'm not a tourist, and showed them my 1 year VISA" Then when they brought me the application form it had "Account for Tourist" at the top. I said, "1. you told me no tourists, 2. I'm not a tourist so this is the wrong form" They came back with the correct forms and I opened an account. Amazing how ignorant Thai bank staff are about their jobs.
