  1. Welcome to thai visa where everyone loves to judge but help....not a lot, lol has anyone even answered or bothered to answer the ops question. No one knows for sure if you will be denied but I doubt that will be the case. You are thinking of this like a western country where everything is linked, that is no the case in thailand and odds are the immigration officer won't know or won't care if it is even in the system at all. The owner of the hotel is more then likely just trying to scare you into paying and not leaving the country, I doubt he has even reported you to the police let alone immigration.

  2. let me help you out
can you own land in thailand - nope
can you own majority of business here - nope
can you become a permanent resident here - very very very unlikely

End of the day Thailand is never going to be your home and with the constantly changing rules you could invest everything here and either end up splitting from the wife and losing nearly all of it or the ever changing visa laws could mean you can no longer stay here.

The decision is up to you but obviously you know the situation here and the high risks that come with investing here or planning for retirement here. Better to rent and keep yourself liquid with the ability to move anywhere else should you choose to or at least invest in a western country.

  3. With the Aud falling to 21.85 and with more rate cuts on the way for Aussies it is very very likely that the THB will fall below 20THB and within the next few months. Do you still think Thailand is worth living with this abysmal exchange rate and what if it keeps dropping down to 15thb or lower. I am keen to see if Aussies will still continue to live here or move on I mean with the current exchange rate I would think most aussies on the pension would not qualify for the retirement visa.

  4. Not just pattaya, Phuket is exactly the same. The hot girls all seem to have gone and been replaced with 1,2's. I think it is a myriad of things that have contributed to it but I definitely think the digital age has fast tracked things. The hot girls all make much more money on instagram and facebook live selling things these days so no need to work in the bars. In just the last 5 years things have changed so much even all my friends ask where are all the hot bargirls whenever they come back to phuket. Western tourists all replaced with bus loads of chinese that are all shuffled into chinese owned businesses, locals are struggling here these days.

  5. Thanks very much for the info guys, Yeah definitely worth getting it done for that price. Will book it in, Is there anything else that needs replacing around 20,000 km's as my bike has just hit it, Never had anyhting else replaced except oil until now.

  6. Head to China for that sort of money you can get a 20 year old virgin girl who would be absolutely stunning and you would just need to pay the salary to her family every month...no need for dowry!!

  7. I live in phuket and you are SOOO CORRECT, You see the old guys in Big C or Big Tesco with their new lady and a BIG shopping cart full of items that the new big fish on the hook is buying for them. So many of my friends have bought their new gf's businesses and put it in their name and then surprised when the gf leaves after a few years of milking them.

i am fairly young mid 30s for Thailand and I have never bought my gf's anything big >1000thb and guess what none of them ever left, I always stated from the start if we ever married no sinsod. Most expats do need to grow some balls here and not be afraid to say no.

Why would it be unfair? The people who voted the first time for Brexit would have the opportunity to confirm their commitment. However, if some of those who voted for Brexit the first time, have now changed their mind, because of all the implications they were not aware of at the time of the first vote, then the UK will remain in the EU.

It seems to me to be very fair to allow people to reconsider a decision that they later might realize was a bad decision.

Wow we have a smart one here, why would it be bad for another vote..Ok say they vote and overturn brexit then according to you it seems unfair to not let them have a say on the decision so in another 2 years they can have another referendum and they decide to go ahead with brexit but 2 years becomes too long so every year they have a referendum on brexit then every 6 months...where does it end?? Flipping and flopping between brexit and no brexit!!

This is exactly why i don't like those Thai farmers...they don't give a duck about other roadusers, they don't care about polluting the air...it's all about me me me...

has nothing to do with farmers and EVERYTHING to do with thai driving style...They never slow down they never wait to overtake till safe they just think My car bigger I do what I want and everyone better get out of the way. Minivans and Trucks do this all the time in phuket, Blind corners, traffic coming the opposite direction...they don't care!

  10. Nah no one told me once a month but lets face it, it's 120THB, they change the oil, tighten the brakes, pump up the tyres and off I go. It's just so cheap and convenient that I don't really mind. I bought the bike when it had done 6k and now up to 16k so wondering if it needed new air filter or not or anything else doing to it, at 20k do you change the belt or wait longer?

  11. Just wondering what should be done on the clicks I get the oil changed every 1000km roughly which is once a month. Belt should be done at 20,000 km if i remember correctly but what about air filters and other stuff. Would be great to hear from someone that knows, I have a click 125i.
