If you do not understand what I am writing, then it will probably be the same kind of issue with getting a Thai visa or extension. You just don´t understand. Can´t write it more clear than I´ve done. To many people have been using tourist and ED-visas for the wrong purposes and together with working illegally. That´s why they have mede it harder for everybody nowadays. If you and more people understand that, maybe we can get on good foot with Immigration again, as it were for 12-15 years ago.
So what who cares if digital nomads/ bloggers etc come here and have a blog that earns them money. They are taking nothing away from thais and not only contributing financially to the country but also tourist wise. What you fail to realize and the thai government as well is that many of those bloggers rank quite high on youtube and google so for the last 10-12 years potential tourists have seen their stuff and then decided to come to Thailand. All their content would have been positive about thailand as well, NOW many have had to move away their content is all positive about their new country of residence BUT they also have 10-12 years of negative content about thailand that they never posted...until now.
No wonder thailands tourism is trending down while vietnam and neighbouring countries are absolutely loving all the positive press. -

I know many farangs here in Thailand and many say the same as you. It truly doesn't make sense when so many hard working average Thais are just wanting, wishing and hoping more tourist's will turn up. As you say, all we do is spend spend and spend, just doesn't make sense.
How long have you been living in thailand now....WHEN have the laws EVER used common sense. The fact of the matter is that the Thai's no longer want foreigners here, They want your money but not you. Things have changed in Thailand and instead of saying why this and why that time to move on. Vietnam is a much better place to live these days anyways.

Looking at the photo, all the oncoming traffic had already stopped before you entered the lights. Pay your fines and be prepared to stop at the yellow next time.

No wonder Kuala Lumpur is rated the cheapest capital city of Southeast Asia. You can get a 3-bedroom apartment in KL for as low as RM1,000 (7400 baht) per month, so if you are only looking for a room, you probably can get one for around RM350.
KL cheapest Asean city to live in, Singapore world's most expensive
If one is willing to live slightly further away from KL, but still within the Klang Valley, one can even rent a 3-bedroom apartment for as low as RM500.
where?? all the apartments i looked at there were 2000-3000rm a month for 1 bedroom lol.

Omg ???? thats more expensive than Australia!!
my electric is 1000thb month with aircon on 24/7 pretty much but on 25-26C and the room still feels cool.
Being single you can easily live here on 20k month as described in my other post, can go to the beach daily, play tennis, volleyball etc etc. The main reason people cannot live here on 20k month is basically because they spend 20-30k on girls, drinking, smoking a month or have wife and kids as schooling here is expensive as hell.- 1

It really is not that hard to live in thailand on 20k month
Apartment in nice condo with pool/gym/sauna 8000thb month for 1 year contract
electric and water a month 1000thb (gov rates)cooking yourself 600g chicken a day (diff marinades)with vegetables and bacon eggs for breakfast 6000thb month
fuel a month if you own your own motorbike 500thb
water a month pura 1.5Lbottles 500thbinternet for phone 100thb month
Total 16,100 thb month and that would be living in phuket. You could still go out to dinner, movies etc with the 3900 left over.
So yes it can be done very easily here in thailand but if you earnt 30-40k you could live like a king.- 4

nothing to do with semantics.. Passive and active income is routinely taxed differently in developed countries also.
The only people who call this a grey area are the ones who want to break the clearly defined law. Its pure self interest. “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!” - Upton Sinclair.
Its comical to me how so many nomads claim great success (yet spend days of thier valuable time chasing shoddy visa options) and claim 'if only there was a way I could be legal I would pay taxes' and yet, when shown iglu and a way they absolutely can be legal and get red carpet treatment for a cost of a few 100 bucks a month, suddenly its 'not realistic' etc etc..Lets face it IGLU is an absolute joke, You would pay FAR more taxes to iglu then you would back in a western country...This is why most do not go with them! Just another ripoff for westerners.
As for which countries you can go to, Vietnam does 1 year business visas for 500usd. FAR cheaper then the elite visa and cost of living and quality of life is far greater then thailand. -
It is pretty simple really, Yes they do not want you here but they want your money. Many people here will continue to put up with more and more just to live here, Therefore the thai authorities KNOW they can just charge more, require more and more foreign money in the banks and yeah some will leave but the majority will just suck it up. Therefore they can continue to milk those that stay for more and more while only losing a few making more and more money each time ????
This equates to more money and less foreigners WIN WIN for thai's lol!!- 1

Don't you know you are just a lowly foreigner, when any thai tells you what to do you should not question it and just say yes sir like many others on this forum do. One only has to search through the forums and you will find tens of thousands of posts were the general consensus is just suck it up and do it as it is not worth the hassle. Thais know this now and they will always use it to their advantage!!
I have moved multiple times in the last few years and I always ask "will you do the tm 30" Only 1 said no and I just walked away straight away from him. He messaged me after saying he would do it but too late then I didn't trust him after that. -

He didn't mention the knob who banned smoking on the beach then. Used to regularly hire a rake of deckchairs in Jomtien and enjoy a day on the beach with my family. Haven't done it once since the smoking ban. I had the curtesy to go and tell our regular vendor the reason why we wouldn't be visiting her again, lovely lady, really miss her. The only reply I got was one of those sick fake smiles. som nam na.
Yeah I know when I go to the beach the one thing i wish there was more of was smokers giving me 2nd hand smoke.....said no one ever!!

Happens everywhere here, you can be heading towards a red light with a timer of 100 and some fool will fly past you in his car at 100kph just so he can get to the red light and have to stop and wait faster.....no common sense!!

Thanks for the response simon43 I am weighing up my options right now - If someone went to Lao and wanted to emulate the same - If you ask the immigration officer 'Is there any way around this - I am assuming the the only challenge is paying the going rate for the amount of KIP and not finding the right immigration officer - Is that correct?
most other countries in S.E.A apart from thailand offer 1 year business visas. You can also get a Business visa for Vietnam 1 year it's about 350-400 USD i think off the top of my head and it's a 1 year MULTI ENTRY. No need for re entry permits nor any 90 day prison reports.

Honestly I am 100% for this, Those machines have started popping up everywhere lately, there are even 3-4 outside many 711's and family marts now. I see kids crying all the time when their parents say no, they are like crack for thai kids.

Another Looney Tunes experience brought to you by Thai Immigration.
Get the Elite Visa if you can...
Or maybe Immigration have teamed up with the elite visa team and are getting kickbacks, Pushing long term tourists here to drop 500k on getting the elite visa!! Save the 500k and spend it in other countries nearby instead!

Oh, this just gets more and more ridiculous. It really is beyond a joke now (forgive the pun!).
The way the Thai people are dismissively treated with utter and total contempt - laughed at, mocked, ridiculed, treated as congenital and insignificant fools and morons by their 'betters' - is just beyond all known societal experience by every single one of us here, I hazard to guess.
And yet - still the Thais go on taking it all ...
HAHAHA this really made me laugh because you can basically replace thai with western expat and it is exactly the same...you question why the thais go on taking it all but western expats go on taking it all too ????????????

Lets face it at the end of the day you can say they don't have spatial awareness you can say they need more training but what it really comes down to is THEY DON'T CARE!!. The amount of times I have to swerve to miss cars / trucks / buses on the wrong side of the road in a single journey is absolutely Absurdly high. They know they are doing the wrong thing as they flick on their headlights and beep their horns. GET OUT OF THE WAY.....HIGHSO(They all think they are highso) THAI COMING THROUGH!!!!
Until the governement crack down and actually start charging these people, let's face currently its it a wai and 500-3000 THB fine if they kill someone so why would they care!! -
with the prices hospitals here charge especially the private ones I expect it to be 10-20x the actual cost!!

I need to buy a new box of testosterone for my trt lasts me a year with 20 amps normally. Seems the boxes are out of stock and they are only selling the single amps of testoviron now but it seems to no longer be made in germany. The pharmacy i went to today showed me a package of bayer but the site was from india and I think it was made in pakistan. Thought I would ask here as I want to get the proper pharma grade testoviron from Germany if possible or if anyone else has bought some and blood tests confirmed it is legitimate would love to know where from, can pm me if needed thanks.
-
Yes Rotexmedica was the one i was looking at too. Unforunately I live in phuket and the pharmacies all seem to have got together and charging 350thb for 1 vial of testoviron not sure about rotex but wanted to make sure it was good stuff before i looked into buying it. Glad to head you found it acceptable will go and check out prices later today.

Get the thai brand the ladyboys use I think it's called "Woodofiron"
why would ladyboys be taking testosterone...wouldn't they be taking female hormones?? lol

ooooh thanks Sheryl do you know what the best choice these days is then, Is it to buy the testosterone from the other german company? or what is everyone doing now for trt?
-
So I am on trt and once a year I normally buy a new box of Bayuer Test (20 ampules). I am being told all over phuket by the pharmacies that they no longer sell the 20 ampule box and you have to pay 350THB for one. Does anyone know if this is correct or is it just the pharmacies getting together to make more money here?

What they really need is a Proper Negotiating Team. With MAY she was still all for staying in the EU and the deal reflected that. They need a team that will pull a hard brexit if need be and start negotiating free trade deals with the russians and chinese. Nothing the EU fear more then the british striking up a free trade deal with those 2!!!

Exactly with all the changes to the visas and not really having any rules or io's not following them...what makes you think the elite visa is safe. Once you buy it they already have your money, If they wanted to they could cancel it at any time and there is nothing you can do!!
