Visa exempt / married to a thai national
You will have no problems with the Visa exempt. If you were to use it multiple times in a short period, then they will question why you are not obtaining the marriage extension.

The physics and engineering of these cranes is quite extreme. It is impressive that they don't topple more frequently.

Quality sofa in Bangkok, maybe built in Bangkok - where to get one?
I purchased a leather recliner from JAS and I like it a lot. They also have some nice looking sofas. They manufacture here in Thailand. They have a showroom on Ekkamai in Thong Lor, but also others.

What was your job (profession) when you moved to Thailand
Before TH, I was a programmer, mostly on a contract basis, with several brief stints as an employee. Started two companies along the way, both failed. When I came to TH full-time in 2010, I was working remote as a programmer for a firm in the US. Great salary, great work, lasted a few years. I then purchased a software development company in Bangkok. Work permit, Thai salary, decent work, did it for 10 years. Now retired. I have a BSEE that was essentially worthless, other than it being a degree, since I went straight into programming. However, way back then there were very few programmers, and demand was about to go parabolic.

MRI in Bangkok
In my experience, it has been the other way around. Doctors from the private hospitals putting in time at government hospitals. A friend was provided a quote and he explained he could not pay. The doctor suggested he go to the government hospital where the same doctor would perform the procedure at a much lower cost.

"Any foreign national who has a work permit in Thailand may now, work anywhere, for anyone"
My WP issued in 2014, like @Ralf001's WP was very "specific". However, someone showed me a more recent WP (cannot remember the issue date or when I saw it, but I think it was after 2019) that did not have all of those specifics. And, if I remember correctly, the change to the law was not "just do anything you wish". I seem to remember that it required approval by your primary employer and some other conditions. But it did allow you to work for someone other than your primary employer. Or work for your primary employer, but at different locations and in different capacities. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can confirm...

MRI in Bangkok
It comes down to "slices". If the slice gap is wider than the object of interest, well, you won't necessarily see it. Or, you might get one or two slices of something you want 10 slices of. It is not (necessarily) a "trick". Bumrungrad saved my leg. Samitivej saved my life. Both were expensive for Thailand. Both were very much cheaper than the US where I am from. Certainly, much cheaper hospitals can handle many things just as well. I have yet to feel I have been ripped off in Thailand.

MRI in Bangkok
When getting an MRI, the primary concern is "resolution". I had a "cheap" MRI done for a tumor. I then returned to Samitivej hospital, where the doctor informed me that the MRI was useless to him, because there was not enough resolution to determine what he needed to know. What I did not understand was that the reason the MRI was so cheap was that they used older equipment that was low-resolution. I then had to pay another 20,000 to Samitivej to get an MRI that the doctor could actually use. So, be sure to ask the doctor what sort of resolution you need to be sure you are not wasting money.

Taxi Cost from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hotel on Soi Sukhumvit 13
The fare and airport fee should come in around 300 THB, depending greatly on traffic. Over 500 THB and I would be highly suspicious.

Do you know (Americans SS) to change ?
When I set it up, I needed to take a form provided by Manilla into Bangkok Bank, and the bank had to fill in a section at the bottom (with routing and account numbers) and sign the form. Returned to Manilla, time passed, change complete. I do not think you can just call up Manilla and tell them the details. They need a properly signed document requesting the change. But... it is simple just as @KhunLA suggests.

Immigration Implications Of Staying In Two Rooms Simultaneously
This is the correct answer. When immigration sees the new TM30 for the one month rental, you simply show them the lease agreement for one month and explain that you are on vacation in that place and will return to your full-time residence. As long as the TM30 on the full-time residence does not have an end date, which it should not, then they should have no issues with this.

Government Policy?
The history behind this is quite interesting. The current "reinterpretation" is actually a "re-reinterpretation". The original tax code taxed all income remitted to Thailand. But many years ago, an "interpretation" was added to the tax code to state that the tax only applied to money earned "in the current year". This was done to help Thai laborers working in foreign countries who were remitting the money to support their families. If they saved their income until year end, then remitted in the following year (say on Jan 1), then no tax was collected. What they have done is to remove that "addition" from years ago, leaving the original tax code as it was in the beginning.

annual fee charged on foreign customer credit card
Do you still receive interest on the money "withheld" to secure the card balance? If not, that is yet another charge for the card. Regardless, 1,284 seems entirely unreasonable. Given that my "no fee" debit card works with 99% of VISA merchants, I would see no reason to pay the charge.
