  1. I would be surprised if the rent could pull even 2,500 per month. More likely 2,000.
  2. When I see the disappointed look on a Thai girl's face, I always explain, "But you ordered the Original recipe".
  3. I am not sure a sniper would be much use in a neighborhood like his one. Those townhouses (hong taos) have very little open exposure and are made of concrete. When I lived in one, my primary complaint was the lack of sunlight. A sniper, in close quarters like that, would have very little chance of acquiring a target. Especially one who know he wis a target. And with a hostage.
  4. JIB is good, in my experience.
  5. Please, and with the utmost respect, I beg you to reread what you have typed here. This is the introduction to every story of a man losing everything in Thailand. My suggestion would be to enter on the longest tourist visa you can obtain. Then I would extend that visa once while I was in Thailand. I am not sure what your passport allows, but if you can get a 30 day visa and extend that another 30 days, this will give you two months in Thailand. While you are here, you can meet with a legitimate (I stress legitimate) agent who can detail all of your options for you, and the cost involved with executing those options. Finally, my strongest recommendation is to not settle on one Thai gf/wife for at least one year. Date. Go out and party a little. Flirt with girls at the mall. Just do not commit to anyone for at least one year. This will possibly help you avoid disaster. And even if I did marry a Thai woman, I would likely never buy or build a house here. That is a more difficult decision to make, because some guys here have done exactly that, and they are very happy. But I believe they are the exception. Personally, I would not do it, unless I was simply "gifting" the house to the girl.
  6. That is a fair point. If the amount of money is so large that it raises eyebrows, then either that money is not legitimate, or it is (say you have a high paying job for 10 years in Thailand, or a condo investment paid off big after many years). In the latter case, I am sure that walking into a bank, and enduring several hours of nonsense, would provide a reasonable means of moving that money. In the former case, might I recommend BTC?
  7. Right. In my case, I believe the request for the deed was due to the fact that the actual owner was not in the "blue book" . Hence the request for a deed to verify the owner issuing the lease.
  8. They requested the deed in my case as well. My agent stated that they only ask for this on the first application. We will see if they request it again next year.
  9. The single most important step in solving this problem is to provide adequate salaries to officers. Without this, the problem cannot even begin to be solved.
  10. The purpose of my post was to help illustrate the maze that you are navigating. It is twisty and treacherous. Personally, I would never even consider any sort of "compensation" in matters such as these. Compensation opens up another cadre of issues and potential pitfalls.
  11. Following up on what @OneMoreFarang said, I had a Thai employee many years ago whose grandfather was murdered. When the family complained that no action was being taken, it was suggested that 100,000 THB might "expedite" matters. The boys knew the family had lots of money. That should help you with understanding the point being made above. There are times, and I have personally experienced a couple. where you will interact with above board officers who do their job professionally. Sadly, this seems to be the exception. The forum is littered with stories of the woes experienced by those who were careless in this regard.
  12. 1) Nope, applies to anyone. 2) Nope, just a standard account set up when I was on a Non-O 14 years ago.
  13. Wouldn't have anything to do with the new tax grab, I am sure...
  14. I can login to my KBank mobile app, and wire $50,000 USD to my account in the US no problem. I can wire that amount every day until the account is empty.
  15. The problem with estimating revenue is that it is not just a question of views. The ad revenue depends a lot of the types of ads your videos attract. For example, during the crypto craze (as FTX was approaching disaster), channels with trading content were getting disproportionate ad revenue because crypto scammers were willing to pay a lot more for ads presented to people who considered themselves traders. Many of these content creators reported on how their revenue dropped precipitously after FTX went belly up. So, the revenue you can generate will depend a great deal on the advertisers and how they value your audience.
  16. Survey says..... absolutely average.
  17. "De-Dollarization" is a psyop.
  18. Have I ever met one? Hell, I have funded several! And, as you say, lipstick on a pig might look nice... ...but wait for that "oink".
  19. Sorry. I should have been more specific. I saw in Thong Lor, Bangkok.
  20. Give him solid advice on the pitfalls to watch out for. Keep an eye out for signs there is something terribly wrong. Then let him get on with learning about life...
  21. It seems to always be available at Villa Market.
  22. You do not even meet the truly hot women...
