  1. What a depressing posting. From another point of view many of us have lived in Thailand for a long time and we are still very happy to be here.
  2. Why did you not take control the moment the loudmouth started to interfere ?
  3. ..and luckily didn't kill anyone else.
  4. You may be right however way too early judge.
  5. Maybe lucky is the wrong word. Fortunate may be better.
  6. Reeves is a Marxist, along with comrade Starmer, indulging in a class war. Starmer will, however, not hesitate to ditch her at an opportune moment.
  7. You are lucky America you have a first lady with both beauty and brains, who speaks well even though English is not her first language.
  8. There were no attacks, merely questions. I hope things go well for her in Thailand, and I wish her all the best in her endeavours.
  9. Whatever Starmer says about his fellow lawyers simply doing their job the fact is that the numbers of people arriving in the UK, both legally and Illegally, are way too high, and Britain's infrastructure and traditional culture are being overwhelmed.
  10. Much the same process as assessing a future partner in any country. In my own case a disastrous first marriage when very young to a girl from Scotland, divorced after 23 years. Second marriage to a Thai lady in 1990, having first met her in 1984. We lived together, in both Thailand and Taiwan, for 6 years before marrying. Those 6 years gave us time to learn if we were really suited to each other. Still happily married together, my wife is now 70 and I am 83. Best advice I can give is take plenty of time before commitment.

  12. Her word against his word. If he denies rape how can he be proven guilty in a law court ?
  13. I would like to know if she has a work permit, and also the kind of visa she entered with. If this story is for real then the practical issues of extensions of stay, 90 day reporting, and work permit renewal will all be part of her 'idyllic' life in Thailand, none of which are mentioned in this article. Further updates of how she is getting on would be of interest. Meantime I remain skeptical that she is nothing more than a tourist enjoying her time here for as long as it lasts, like most tourists.
  14. I cannot see this trade in people ever being stopped unless extreme action is taken against the traffickers. those agreeing to be trafficked, and those benefitting from the cheap labour which ensues. And, by extreme, I mean live bullets should be fired if necessary to eliminate the gangs running these businesses.
  15. Welby is nothing more or less than a creep of the first order. Should have stuck to flogging lubricants for Shell.
  16. Marxists taking over. We Brits now have to be very careful what we say. even in fun. Laughter and joking in pubs is becoming a crime. God help us.
  17. Maybe you could learn to cook for yourself.
  18. Not remotely doomed as long as it continues to exploit it's natural resources sensibly, and limits immigration only to those of good character and good intentions.
  19. Never liked Bad Company. Turgid lyrics and music.
  20. Difficult to understand just what your problem is. You are required to report to an immigration office every 90 days spent in Thailand. If you have a problem counting, or understanding a calendar, find someone to help you.
  21. The site provides useful information and experiences from time to time about life and living in Thailand. The occasional toxicity can be a bit of fun, although some people take it way too seriously, and get far too angry and abusive about things, especially the anti-Trumpers.
  22. That still leaves you with tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, racquets, athletics, bowls, bowling, weightlifting, volleyball, sailing, snooker, surfing, swimming, rowing, motorsport, gymnastics, diving, curling and archery, to name but a few. Enjoy !
