Is there anything good about getting old?

Make a lot of friends with doctors. -
I agree with your GDP analysis but that's thinking like an economist which Trump is not (remember Trump's "Drill baby, drill?). Trump thinks in terms of personal wealth and how he can become wealthier. Why did Trump want to buy Iceland? It had nothing to do with GDP. It's about gaining personal control of Canadian resources in the same manner as one sees with Russian oligarchs. Putin wasn't thinking of increasing Russia's GDP when he captured Ukraine's offshore oil&gas platforms during his invasion of Ukraine. Canada ranks fourth of countries by value of its natural resources (including coal, timber, natural gas, uranium, precious metals such as gold). It has the world's third largest oil deposits and ranks fourth in terms of natural resource value following Russia, US and Saudi Arabia.

Foreigners and Thais Arrested in Underwear at Bangkok Hotel Party

Why? No laws violated. I don't believe this is done to people testing negative to drugs at police road check points. Seems more to inflate the police report. -
I can't see what they did for you that you couldn't on your own. But you're satisfied and that's what counts.

It is by Royal Proclamation - there is no jury.

Senator John Fetterman Calls for Pardon for Donald Trump

Presidential pardon does not apply. Trump is not in the White House. Having a busy personal life is not grounds for dismissal. -

Thailand aims to become education hub with global universities
Srikcir replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Feels like the reverse of "If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad will go to the mountain." While Chulalongkorn University in 2024 ranked #1 in Thailand, it ranked #41 in Asia and #280 in the world. https://www.uniranks.com/ranking/top-regional?country=Thailand Thailand's English proficiency in 2023 ranked 101st out of 113 countries and regions, and 8th out of ASEAN countries. https://thailand.opendevelopmentmekong.net/news/thailand-ranked-very-low-in-english-proficiency-index/ It didn't help that PM Prayut expected Thai to be one of the world's major languages within years. Thailand has a tall mountain to climb. -

Went from non O-A after nine years to LTR in 2022 without an agent, processed visa at the immigration One Stop Service office at Chamchuri Square Building, Pathumwan, Bangkok (next to MRT Sam Yan station Exit 2). BOI office on same floor and LTR had its own immigration window. BOI was very supportive and escorted me through my walk through in immigration. Have now done one notification (first year reset because I left Thailand for a month in 2023); next notification in 2025. No online but in person at the LTR immigration window.

Some useful background information on Musk's rumored donation: "What are the rules on UK political donations and how might Labour change them?" https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/dec/02/what-are-the-rules-on-uk-political-donations-and-how-might-labour-change-them "Manifesto promise to tighten regulations given urgency by speculation Elon Musk could give $100m to Reform UK" "The key requirement for donors to be permissible, according to the Electoral Commission, is that they must be registered in the UK – either by being a voter on the electoral register or a UK company, trade union or LLP. They can also be unincorporated associations in the UK." How could Musk make a donation to Reform? "Two potential avenues have been floated: either through the UK arm of the social media company X or by securing UK citizenship, which his father Errol has said he is eligible for because his grandmother was British."

Why Trump Should Support a Pardon for Hunter Biden
Srikcir replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not an issue. "President Joe Biden Pardons Son Hunter Biden" "No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out," the president wrote. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/joe-biden-pardons-hunter-biden_n_674d0071e4b09da02dde4492 -
Trump threatens to raise cost of US imports 100% from nine BRIC members states representing over US$28.5 trillion or about 28% of the global economy. And consequently thirteen new nations recently added to the alliance as partner countries – Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Turkey, Uganda and Uzbekistan. Ironically, Trump's "tariffs" (plus higher sales tax where applicable) added to American consumer products will substantially increase US inflation, devaluing the USD. Trump shoots average Americans in their "economic foot" while actually strengthening BRIC objectives.
