Certainly agree with the Tuesday/Wednesday departure date for airlines. Not set in stone but good guide My next outbound flight to Thailand is on a Wednesday. The Saturday departure was £22 higher

lol he's not saying that, he was replying to someone who said the Givernment should fund the repatriation efforts

Foreign Embassies worldwide are their to provide assisstance to its own citizens but thats never extended to paying repatriation costs. Out of interest someone mentioned "cheap" insurance not covering repatriation. It did make me wonder if I had it on my annual multi trip coverage Had to did deep but yes its there under the death section That policy last renewal was I think from my memory £58 something for 63 year old (at the time) (claimed twice in past no issues)

Dont want to go off topic but its not beyond the realms of possibility that this happened People take these tabs of various decriptions often from street sellers and inavaribly very few have ever asked their own GP are they suitable for me Maybe this guy had some undiagnosed condition used a tab and something happened thereafter I do get totally amused when guys I know many who take the things and then discuss the unwanted after effects around the pool lol and am not talking about their performance per se

Superrich Struggles as Savvy Tourists Opt for Travel Cards
Chivas replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
More and more have their own Thai accounts and transfer in via Wise and other remitters and withdraw cash from the bank branches or ATMs Last trip coming out in January I had not one single British bank note with me nothing at all as never use cash within UK normally all via card -
Perfectly well as it happens lol

Yep and I get repeatedly disbelieved at 64 that I have never taken one in my life simply because Percy still works normally when the need arises lol

E-visa and opening bank account
Chivas replied to The Great Tortoise's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Worst case scenario agent will open Bangkok Bank for you for around 3500 net (varies slightly) -
Yes in hindsight I was asked for current location but I supplied driving Licence on 1st application On second Evisa application it didnt ask for it (or financial details) Reading from various sources it does appear its more of "completing the box" rather than what actually goes in the box in the first place !

Agree entirely with that. One evening 9pm I walked up from 2nd rd end this high season just gone. I was verbally assaulted from all directions and not because I was suddenly 30 years younger but purely because there was no other sod around lol

Happy to be jumped on here but if your passport shows you're not in Thailand via immigration whats wrong with setting a VPN to your home country and applying normally ?? Say I was in Vietnam surely I could switch UK vpn on and apply by clicking through Royal Thai Embassy London I must be missing something obviously or perhaps not because was sat thinking about this last week. ?

Kiwi held in Pattaya for overstaying visa by six years
Chivas replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
So you take your passport to the Beach...shall I go on ?? Secondly you completely ignored what I said about a passport being in a secure place with no access to 3rd parties Furthermore the chief immigration minister produced an article which was here on Thaivisa at the time and I've got it saved probably on other laptop where you have 24 hours to produce your passport to a police station if asked to do so I dont know absolutely anyone these 32 years who routinely takes their passport out day to day walking about their daily business. (banking excepted obviously) None ! -
Kiwi held in Pattaya for overstaying visa by six years

Anyone who carries their passport around with them 24/7 needs their head examining. On the remote chance it happened to me I'd deal with the fallout thereafter. Nobody whatsoever is being locked up indefinately until "someone goes and gets their passport" As an example I had a Siam Secure security box on 2 separate occasions back around 2015 in which I kept the passport at the time. Nobody but me would have access to that. Common sense even in Thailand has to prevail -
Are new underpants required ??
-
If you're on your own then it simply has to be "possible"

This is not in response to the OP (per se) but came up the other day when someone had asked where the IDP was available from in the UK because Post Office had stopped issuing them Googling produces this so am assuming the local Premier Store issues them now ! Yeah I can just see the staff of (my) local store being capable of doing that !

In the past I must have clicked on something via SMS (not that I recall) because credit just gets eaten all the time True have reset Sim 3 times but as soon as the new month starts on the 1st the credit starts disappearing again. Pain because the only time I'd need credit is the emergency hospital ambulance numbers just imagine having heart attack and the phones telling you to add credit !

Has this "Chemtrail" lunacy on X reached Thailand yet ??
Chivas replied to Chivas's topic in General Topics
Whats the reference to 9/11 there @Walker88 ?? I cant quite work out if you are are implying that the yanks blew up their own twin towers or otherwise I was whacking my head against a brick wall last week over some fruitcakes who believed they had never landed on the moon "because he didnt see it with his own eyes" If he was old enough and had a TV in 1969 he would have lol as it was Live -

It'll be a very emotional day for them when unwittingly they are the cause of a multiple car crash of high end motors or god forbid kill someone when the bill is presented to them when the insurer denies the claim ! So many seem to ride bikes around Pattaya half pissed with no thought to the financial consequence of causing accidents and deaths. Mind boggling
