The websites relating to AIS DTAC Truemove simply dont have listed these fabulous 200 baht deals at insane speeds that some claim to exist
-
Add yours no matter what network (JJ or whatever alias you're using this week play nicely) I was somewhat astonished to find that my "always on" Short Code on True Move was stiill available nearly 4 years since I last used it.....i had used it for at least 6 years before that as well Now according to most it wont be competitive at 200 Baht plus vat for the month as the speed gets throttled after first 1GB of data (fair enough I agree) but amazingly few ever put up alternatives on any networks So to be clear we are talking stand alone month by month deals not yearly from Lazada or whatever its called *900*1801# then "call" Thats gets you a 30 day always on connection on True Will be delighted if others come up with superb alternatives....

What type of cancer do you think you will get?
Chivas replied to Chris Daley's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Bladder cancer will get a few including myself First had it aged only 42 The day when you go for a pee and suddenly see a flow of claret will make the toughest guy go weak at the kees lol (its the unexpected factor that will make you shake lol) -
Yep I'd go along with some of that Thailand is not a place to be when health starts to deteriorate alarmingly.....if you're strugging financially within the UK then you'll still struggle in Thailand when the health costs mount. Visa requirements etc etc etc The basics are still very cheap in Thailand but go "off-piste" per se and they rise quickly Only my opinion I acknowledge others will disagree

Out of interest because more than a few on all media seem to think State Pension is tax free Its not It forms part of "income" which when it exceeds the annual tax allowance (and is outside of tax wrappers) is very much taxable HMRC have plenty of experience over collection lol

Correct

You'll need to do exactly what I intend to do at 90 days and a land border run
-
I agree and it what I've always assumed but assumption is a dangerous motherfu**** as Saddam found out to his cost ! @RayC makes the point re Embassy website onward requirements
-
I didnt notice your post Thats exactly what I'm referring to in the above post of mine
-
I'm bemused with the Embassy website. As per earlier post I applied and was given 60 day visa with an upload of a one way ticket The website itself however clearly states onward tickets are required but only under a blanket heading for want of a better description I always thought (and still do) that a one way ticket inbound when you have an advance tourist visa is fine. Visa exempt entry and its not fine and 16 years ago I had the problem on Emirates trying to do just that. I signed an indemnity in the end and they let me board I really dont want to be having an arguement at check in at Etihad and for the $16 it seems your suggestion might be a good idea Correct me if I'm wrong but they need to be applied for 24 hours before wheels up as they expire at the 24 hour point ?? Or as you say step away from the counter ??
-
I think you'll need a visa of some sort if you're going without the return flight already sorted Embassy granted my tourist visa of 60 days with only the upload of a one way flight If you only try the visa exempt entry on a one way you run the risk of being offloaded at check in

Santander is closing my UK current account
Chivas replied to somo's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
Further to my post earlier in the thread I opened couple online accounts with Chase and Kroo some time ago I had to upload just the driving licence via the app plus the selfies bollacks but nothing else for both My brother who is not on the electoral role had to upload some financial documents that proved he lived at his address (he is living with his partner in her house) He couldnt supply what they wanted so they declined his application with Chase -

All the banks to my knowledge need proof of address in the UK Normally its something like a Driving Licence and a Utility bill for example Again this comes back to keeping several accounts active and not burning our bridges with a little churning annually to avoid the shight hitting the fan as you're experiencing -
60 day e-visa from UK
Chivas replied to Chris1950's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
...and definately in hindsight the set up online is quicker and easier @VBF Once you've done it once (and know the way they want it presented) its definately better -
I'm genuinely not laughing (obviously) but whenever I hear these stories I immediately go back now 21 years and the story of the British bloke having sex with a Goat in front of train passengers on the Bridlington line near Hull The Sun newspaper article seems to have been removed from Google but the judge had remarked that the Goat must have been in some distress at the time Some wit in the Sun comments section had added "I dont suppose the train passengers were over thrilled" ???? Another added "I suppose he'll now have to go on the sex offenders register" ???? https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2002/mar/14/martinwainwright

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
Chivas replied to Goat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
What I found was it was all the minor things that stand alone are not really an issue However lump them all together 24/7 and its a different kettle of fish The lack of what I perceive as "safety" in all aspects is mind boggling and we wont even start on the driving lol Am sure there are some that enjoy it (and my 98% may be some what high) but I gave it a go and its definately not for me other than say 3 days or so -

Chivas replied to Goat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I had reason to stay in Issan for 2 whole months out of choice. No Pattaya no Bangkok in late 2011 Buriram and Lantanmanchai I consider myself easy going (some will disagree lol) but always fit in easily wherever I am and adapt.... Give me the Sun and lotion and an internet connection and I'm a pig in paradise At 60 days hard up against the Tourist Visa I was going completely dollally up there seriously It was actually the end of the marriage (yes there were other reasons) but go up there out of choice to live alone (or even with a Thai) and 98% you will go completely mad.
