The whole place is about a 4 or 5 at best. Backpackers and Thais most tourists. Several weeds shops popping up in and around the old city. CM is a Chinese tourist town anyway it will never be like it was until they come back. As someone else said, good time to go if you don't mind the rain.

From where it was a few years ago around 30, it is like a 20% raise for Americans. Way ahead of inflation here.

I drove one a few weeks ago. The suspension was terrible like a 1970's truck. Warning lights going on everywhere, the side molding coming off. 3 tires showed warning on air, I filled them to 32 they were showing various numbers in the low 20's I thought it was pretty cheap.

I was paying 13k in a larger one bedroom on a high floor in building A. But, I left The Base it is very popular was a zoo pre Covid Chinese and other illegal short term rentals 100's of them coming and going everyday. The management will do nothing about it. I live in Naklua now and love it.

As far as western food in or near Naklua, Terminal 21 has several western choices including Arno's which I think has the best burger in the city. But, "western" is really the opinion and experience of where a person came from. Breakfasts in most western countries for example are not the same.

For less then 15k ypu can rent a nice condo at The Base. Full kitchens, central can walk to many of the entertainment venues, malls, etc.

It will be interesting to see how many people, particulary Thais keep wearing masks. My guess is many will. I still see a fair share mostly on motorbikes, but also in cars wearing them.

The Police have similar issues. I know one officer in Bangkok who has a monthly income of approx. 30,000 b. Owns a condo and a car, but after the loans are paid is left with around 3,000 b. There just seems to be a general lack of education or care here regarding finances. If they did give some instruction regarding finances around high school age, add driving instructions this country would be better off.

I have tried a couple of short stays in places like Isan and almost went insane. I like Bangkok, but the options for everything I think are in Pattaya. Not much I dislike about it.

Met a girl on Beach Road today took her for lunch only 700 b. The meal was very good outstanding value I thought.

I am sure glad I don´t live in one of those 10 million baht condos at Northshore or in some of the other buidlings in that area. Every weekend it seems blasting music and crowds till late hours sure affects quality of life and must be unbearable if a person has a regular sleeping pattern.

Been flying from BKK to several cities in the north they checked nothing.

Huh, I went there last month about 2:30 pm and they were open. Still early only 4 girls in the fish bowl. Maybe they closed again after that do to lack of customers.

Big flush of cash I would rent a luxury villa with 4 bedrooms and large pool in Pattaya or Phuket for a year. I would have 5 or 6 different girls in bikinis every week come visit me and take good care of them. Add, all the free great food and booze they want.
