  1. Rangsit is a big place. Not sure how you could miss it ;-)
  2. This is success. Well done to him.
  3. I can't imagine why someone would keep working if they had the chance to quit.
  4. This looks really nice https://munnorkprivateisland.com/en/home
  5. Have you ever seen Lamb Kidneys in Thailand? I'd love to be able to get those.
  6. Yes of course, as long as you have over 1 million baht in assets you are a Thai baht millionaire. Of course in any currency there are levels of millionaire. Some people are millionaires only on paper, some are millionaires in cash and the amounts they have can vary wildly from 1 million upto 999,999,999 THB (after which they become billionaires.
  7. My parents were Amway distributor in Hong Kong, they started their Amway business in the late 70's (We arrived there in 1973, Amway opened in 1974) They made good money doing it and my mother raved about the products until she passed away last year. Multi level marketing isn't easy, like any business you have to work hard, and not everyone is cut-out to make money in that type of business. It depends a lot on who your sponsor is and how much help they give you. My parents were fortunate to be sponsored by one of the two Diamond level distributors in HK. I believe they reached the Ruby level although it may have been higher.
  8. I don't have anything in my 'home country', in fact I've never had anything, never lived there... only visited a few times. I don't even think of it as home. It is only a country that gave me a passport, nothing else.
  9. Fees are under Treatment Costs. Prices look very good compared to Bangkok.
  10. No one has raised the issue faced by old boys on pensions who won't be able to afford to take their wifey back home with them if they have to leave Thailand over this. Or the pensioners who've got kids and won't be able to afford to take their kids with them. However, I think this whole issue will blow over.
  11. There was a clue in the post - Khet had over 40 million baht in his bank after his mother sold some land.
  12. Your PA was bi-sexual. The Tom was a lesbian.
  13. Where does it mention wearing a mask to protect against Dengue?
  14. I'll probably take my GF and her daughter for a Xmas Buffet at one of the top hotels in Bangkok. A few years ago we went to the St Regis which was very nice. Their Xmas Eve Brunch is 5,000 baht ++ per person with free flow Verve Clicquot and 1,500 ++ for her daughter. Xmas Eve Dinner is 5,600 ++ and 1,800 ++
  15. I've not held a credit card for the past 23 years. Doesn't stop me from traveling to other countries.
  16. I haven't touched alcohol for 3 years. Still go out to meet friends, sometimes to bars where they will drink and I just have soda water. Not drinking doesn't mean you can't go out like you did when you were drinking.
  17. Just taking their lunch home.
  18. Those won't stop you getting herpes, or genital warts.
  19. My father (a Brit) made it to 79, he lived in Asia for about half of his life. Was never overweight, never smoked, didn't drink much, didn't eat much. Wasn't interested in sport, so didn't do any except a bit of swimming. Alzheimers and a minor stroke got him in the end. I figure I'll make it to about the same age although I hope I make it to the age my mum managed which was 86.
  20. Meh, I listened to most of those when I was a teenager. Old music is boring, now I listen to stuff I can dance to!
  21. Most guys on here are retired and some are living on just a meager pension of 60K baht a month. If you are not retired, have an expat wife and want an expat life in Bangkok, then you need anywhere from 200-300K ++ per month. For each child you will need another 100K baht a month just for school, so add 150K per kid to cover them. 600K baht per month for a family with 2 kids is not unreasonable.
  22. Inflation for average, poor Thais. They don't count inflation for us rich people because we don't care if Baked Beans are 300 baht a can or 400 baht a can, we'll pay whatever just to have our beans on toast.
  23. Only if it falls on you in the night.
  24. How large is the place? a 60 sq/m 2 bed place will cost less to keep cool etc than a 120 sq/m 2 bedroom place. Where is it and is it a condo or an apartment? Are you paying the building or the MEA/PEA? If you are in.an apartment and paying an electric bill that they provide then I would out and find a condo where you pay direct to the MEA/PEA.
