Pathum thani immigration
AgMech Cowboy replied to kingstonkid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They are 'now'. But I remember a time (more than a few) back in 2006-2012+/- when 'they' were not so nice. (Although I was not applying for Marriage or Retirement extensions). It was particularly one time before 2010, after visiting there that my wife turned to me and informed me she would NEVER go back there again. (They had for a number of years a particularly unfriendly person who received all the applicants paperwork, shuffled through it and gave you your 'number'. She was never pleasant) -

Border Hop at Poi Pet with Non O Visa
AgMech Cowboy replied to VintageTQ's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I asked the same question within the last year (or so) and was advised by Ubonjoe (may he RIP) that I should go to Ban Laem-Kamrieng crossing. It adds a few extra KMs to the journey, but I had no problems there. I found it much cheaper and safer to fly to KL on AirAsia, which is what I did the next 'hop'. -
Where is the crying emoji when you need one. Sad, just isn't appropriate.

Yep. That's a very good deal leaving from Pattaya.

You must have gone to a different church than I did. The Bible strongly suggests Joseph was a fairly young man. - In an effort to support their belief that Mary remained a virgin after Jesus’ birth because Joseph was too old to have relations with her. However, there are indications in the Bible’s account involving Joseph that he was not an old man as some claim, consider the following: 1. After Jesus was born Mary and Joseph had at least 6 more children.* 2. After Jesus was born Herod tried to have him killed so an angel warned Joseph to take the child and his mother down into Egypt, a long journey on foot and later back again, a trip requiring considerable strength for a man to make. 3. Joseph taught Jesus the skill of carpentry which was done by hand requiring considerable strength. 4. Israelite males were required to travel to Jerusalem three time a year and the scriptures show Joseph was strong enough to make that trip when Jesus was 12 years old. The trip would have required walking for perhaps 4 days up from Nazareth to Jerusalem, 91 miles climbing around 1400 ft. in elevation.

Thai tourism revolution: Duty-free ditch and booze bonanza
AgMech Cowboy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's a stupid idea. It may work fine for a few months, but if I was still traveling, I'd just buy my duty free goods in the departing airport rather than in Thailand. -
Cat stuck in drainpipe rescued in Nakhon Ratchasima

Must be Canada or Mexico. I've never heard a cat called that unless it was together with 'pussy cat'. You're just full of it. -
Can someone recommend a dentist in Bangkok ? [2023]
AgMech Cowboy replied to bluebird729's topic in Bangkok
I've been going to Dr. Somchai at Thaniya Dental since 1999. Very professional service. The added bonus is the large amount of Golf shopping available there and the access via Skytrain. -
China slashes visa fees: Tourists to travel to the PRC for less
AgMech Cowboy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Incorrect. They're raising interest rates trying to reduce the inflation rate. The sad effect of that is that people reduce their spending, but it's not the goal. -
I'm not happy about it. My 21 yr old son has started smoking that 'dope' and I can tell it's changing him. It is especially bad for young people. If you old farts want to smoke it, I've no problem, but did you know that increased use of marijuana is leading to increased psychosis, bipolar mania, and even spontaneous vomiting, especially in adolescents and young adults. The younger the user, the less developed their brain, the more harmful the drug. There is a 27% chance of developing schizophrenia and marijuana induced psychosis. I already see some of this in him. If you need marijuana for a health treatment I've no problem, but stop you BS about it being a harmless drug. Source: What's Wrong with Marijuana? Dr. Drew Pinsky as presented in a YouTube video on PragerU. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL-nCMWsQQU You'll have to copy the link and paste it into your browser to watch.

Policeman In Hot Water For Letting Chinese Tourist Wear Uniform
AgMech Cowboy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't see it as a big deal. The 'tourist' wasn't out directing traffic, writing tickets, harassing anyone, driving a motorbike or police car or shaking down the local or visiting Chinese. Looks like a bit of fun. -
Is there any kind of '10 Year Rule' about living with a Thai woman?
AgMech Cowboy replied to siftasam's topic in Chiang Mai
Yap, yap, yap all you want, but there is precedence now in the Thai court system. Go find a good attorney. @siftasam https://thai369.com/en/a-danner-wins-a-process-against-his-thailand-wife-for-not-sharing-his-goods/ -

Investing offshore
AgMech Cowboy replied to cdenn's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If you want to lose money, then use those offshore investment companies and banks. They talk a good game, but it's all a big scam.
