  1. Yeah, a shame. Can anyone start up a new TV/Asean Now FF league, or does it need to be Mod sanctioned?
  2. And fortunately the Labour Party will be delighted with an ineffectual Truss as Prime Minister. Talk about the Tories shooting themselves in the foot! Great fun to see them disintegrating.
  3. The actual issuing of new passports is still done by HMPO in Liverpool. They've only outsourced the admin procedure for submitting the documentation overseas. VFS merely check the documents and forward them to Liverpool.
  4. Maybe the child is not eligible for a Thai passport! In any case, a UK visa would not be issued to someone who is British.
  5. You still can, however it does complicate the process.
  6. Yes. Lots of Thai tourists rent cars for touring around the UK.
  7. Because some people aren't great at spelling. Does it really matter on a Forum like this?
  8. Sure. But the point is that Thai Immigration need to be satisfied that the new passport is genuine (and not been bought on Kaosan Road!), hence their requirement for official Embassy confirmation.
  9. Why hasn't the League been reactivated yet?
  10. Yes. That's why I thought I would explain about the letter. If you renew "irregularly" you don't get it, and I don't believe the Embassy would let you have one without proof that the new passport is genuine.
  11. The Embassy letter which you get when you collect your new passport from VFS is embossed with the Embassy seal. It's only required by Thai Immigration when transferring stamps to a new, unused passport. If you renew your passport while in the UK, the letter is not required as your new passport will be stamped upon arrival in Thailand. You only need to old and new passports to get your stamps transferred.
  12. It's a mess as you can only apply 3 months in advance. UKVI advise NOT to make a flight booking as the visa may be denied, although many people do it, with a refundable booking.
  13. At least BA were quick to give full refunds from cancelled Covid flights from 2020.
  14. Are there any ThaiVisa FF leagues to join?
  15. "You were married in Bang Rak, but if your marriage was not registered in the UK it does not exist in UK law." Are you sure about this? I wasn't aware that an overseas legal marriage needed to be "registered" in the UK. Do you have a link?
  16. Crazy. I thought we'd got beyond this. Once again, education is deemed unimportant.
  17. What restrictions? Surely, not returning to lockdowns and school closures?
  18. The whole nonsense about Blair/Bush "lying" when Saddam had killed thousands with WMDs, suits both the Tories and the far-left George Galloway brigade. Tony would make a fine Tory leader...
  19. Cheers. I don't think I got it from the school as parents are not allowed to leave their car for dropping off or picking up kids. Both my wife and son don't appear to have got it either, even though my attempts at self-isolating from the family have not been very successful. Anyway, 2 days of fever and headache have finished and now it's just tiredness. Glad I am triple-vaxxed.
  20. There's no test. It just needs to be printed on the certificate. Most doctors/clinics use a pro-forma certificate. The only blood test (finger <deleted>) is for syphilis.
  21. Coincidence? I happily stopped wearing my mask as soon as the mandate was lifted. Yesterday, I tested positive for Covid! ????????
