  1. Almost everyone I know in Thailand uses mobile phone banking!
  2. The stamps are transferred into the brand new passport at Immigration. The Embassy letter is given to you when you collect the new passport from VFS.
  3. That is the reason. As has been mentioned already, if the new passport was issued in the UK it's not "new" when presented at Immigration to transfer Extension stamps, as it will have been stamped upon arrival at the airport.
  4. Ah, OK. So no reason for you to be discomforted then. I am a client and I'm looking for comfort from others who are!
  5. I have their set top box, but I know others who just connect via a PC. Buffering is very rare; in fact over the last year, and since I increased my AIS fiber speeds, non- existent. As Lite Beer said, you get what you pay for.
  6. Agree. I've had it for many years now. Good customer service too when channels occasionally disappear or there are server issues, and if you request movies or series they will normally add them.
  7. Start by reading Theoldgit's thread pinned at the top of this Forum.
  8. Maybe I missed something, but who is Dr Boon and what is his connection to WRLife?
  9. If you were starving and there was nothing else available I'm sure you'd be relieved to gobble down some sprouts!
  10. Are you discomforted enough to cancel ?
  11. WRLife are certainly new in the Thai market, so it's not surprising they are relatively unknown.
  12. You can go to them directly. I've used the same broker for many years, mainly as it's useful to have him involved in the event of a claim, and it was him who recommended I switch from my previous insurer and put forward WRLife.
  13. Not in my experience. My Thai students always go for the burgers, even those who are not supposed to eat beef for "religious" reasons. It's a "ham" burger after all!
  14. My understanding was that WRLIfe didn't require that matters like taking BP medication be disclosed. Maybe it will come back to bite me. I've been insured by them for nearly a year now, so I've passed the 6-months rule.
  15. Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek
  16. That should work then. The only problem might the long delays! I got my son his first UK passport in Thailand, and if you live near Bangkok or Chiang Mai, it's quite straightforward; however at that time (2015) it only took 3 weeks.
  17. Yes, I did that too. But the OP wants to wait until after he is in the UK before getting his child's UK passport. UK visas are not issued to UK citizens.
  18. It's better for the children if their parents are married.
  19. How will your child leave Thailand? If on a Thai passport they will need a UK visa. If UKVI know that the child is British the visa won't be issued. Much easier would be to get the child's UK passport before you travel.
  20. Maybe posting on a different insurance thread would be more useful as this thread is specifically about "WRLife experiences".
  21. The women, the woke culture in the UK, Boris Johnson, Brexit - I can think of loads of reasons. I don't really think Thailand is that much cheaper anyway unless you live like a Thai!
  22. It's not just rent though, is it? You have to factor in Council Tax, utilities, internet/cable all of which are far more expensive than in Thailand.
  23. I think Thais enjoy them as they're quite partial to chicken feet, beaks, tendons and bones.
  24. Thai food can get boring after a while and not everyone is fond of white rice, fish sauce and chilli, not to mention the focus on offal, MSG and added sugar. Much better to eat a variety of international food.
