It's been bad for a while and it's unlikely to change. Bad air quality is something you have to live with in most parts of Thailand and a lot of Asia.

There is no requirement for a UK address, hence the need to have proof of address in Thailand. A bank statement, or letter from your employer if you're working will work.

This is going round in circles, although I understand some BMs enjoy the arguments! If you want to wear a mask, wear one. If you don't, don't! It was only an issue for me when mask wearing was made mandatory, which has not been the case for a long time now.

Curious and curiouser.... The body was found relatively close to where she disappeared, and yet nothing had been found during the extensive searches carried out over the last 20 days! No wonder the conspiracy theorists and armchair ghouls sleuths are having a field day.

It's nothing to do with the Embassy any more. You submit the form, photos, supporting documents and a colour photocopy of every page of your current passport at the HMPO office at VFS in either Bangkok or Chiang Mai. They send it off to Liverpool and hopefully the new passport is issued and sent to Thailand in 8-10 weeks. You then go to VFS again to pick it up and get your old passport 'clipped'. You can use an Agent if getting to Bangkok or Chiang Mai is not easy.

Thanks. Their helpdesk have told me there are still issues with using the backup link via Hong Kong instead of the regular undersea connection to Europe via Singapore. They hope to be back to normal sometime today.
