As @Tug pointed out, the unrest after George Floyd's killing was race based and against the extra-judicial killing of black people. Not in any way comparable to the murder of Kirk.

At last, I can agree with you! The Thai government is very careful to label most of us "non-immigrants", no matter how long we may have lived here. That said, technically asylum seekers/refugees are not "immigrants" as they will, or should, return to their home country when they can.
