  1. I wonder if there was any rock/pop star in the the 1960s, 70s & 80s who didn't sleep with teenage groupies?
  2. If his Aussie passport is his first, he'll need to show his Thai birth certificate when departing Thailand. He can return to Thailand visa exempt as an Australian citizen but he'll be 'overstaying' once the 30 days is up. Not a huge issue for a kid, as he cannot be fined or banned for overstaying, but if he leaves Thailand on that passport it will be stamped as 'overstay'. If he attends an international school here, they may insist that he's not on overstay. Of course, if you can get his Thai passport sorted, it will solve a lot of problems!
  3. Good to see some unnecessary bureaucracy being done away with. Another saving for the UK tax payer ????
  4. You won't regret it!
  5. Other than on the initial application, I've never had to do this for my son's schools.
  6. That's certainly her public line now. But "if" something were to happen to rule Biden out of the race, they would need to act fast to avoid getting stuck with Kamala Harris. Michelle might the only way to pacify those who feel the replacement has to be a woman of colour. She'll be persuaded, when her country needs her.
  7. He's a vaccine-denier conspiracy theorist for a start!
  8. The whole system is ridiculous. It doesn't matter if the Approval email comes after your due date. Just relax and wait.
  9. Obviously no one in their right mind would want to see Trump elected again and De Santis is scary. But Biden is also obviously a spent force and incapable of being President. Time for Gavin Newsom or Michelle Obama.
  10. I changed to a Macbook Pro for the first time a year or so ago. Would NEVER go back to Windows!
  11. Just be patient. If it shows pending, it will either be approved or rejected. I had to wait over 10 days last time.
  12. I was referring to how it affects me (and my family).
  13. The ability to travel freely throughout the EU without border restrictions. Not to mention the right to live and work in the EU.
  14. I completely agree. I'm not even sure why it was brought up in this thread, let alone why the UK government made such a big deal over it!
  15. It makes no difference whatsoever, except, apparently, to the UK government who seem think we should be delighted at getting a "blue" (black) passport instead of a burgundy one. What does make a difference is that the new passport is considerably more restrictive than the previous EU one.
  16. The fact that this ridiculous government call it "blue" makes it even more obvious that it's actually black.
  17. True. But then she'd have to leave or extend after 30 days, or overstay. She's half-Thai, she should get a Thai passport.
  18. You're in trouble! I would always allow around 3-4 months (maybe longer). Your Extension of Stay only runs until the expiry of your passport, so you'd be on overstay.
  19. We certainly have high standards!
  20. Your new black passport will be valid for 10 years from the date it is issued, irrespective of when your current burgundy passport expires. Renewing is easy via HMPO/VFS in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. How long it takes depends on the efficient of HMPO in Liverpool! You retain your old passport while the renewal processing is taking place, but only for ID purposes.
  21. Or 10,000 for a year. You get what you pay for! Plenty of cheaper but often unreliable options out there.
