  1. I think the first thing that probably jumps out of this claim is the fact that Trump isn't doing the thing that they say is like "Dolchstosslegende". 🤷‍♂️ He isn't demonising anyone, they do that to themselves, and he isn't blaming them for anything that they haven't done. This is kind of childish and just a continuation of the syndrome which cannot be named. Basically Trump cannot point out the bad things that anyone has done, nor the harmful effects these bad things have had on society, less he be labelled the American Hitler. If Trump was lying about what a group was doing, and blaming them for something for which they are not responsible, I would say that they have a point. But he isn't doing that, so they don't.
  2. But you somehow know enough to label the foreigner? 🤔 For the Thai, we don't really know what is happening, but for the foeinger, we definitely know? 🤦‍♂️ Seems like you're just happy at the idea of a Thai being racist and harassing a foreigner.
  3. If he was discriminating against the foreigner due to his race, then it would indeed be racism. 🤷‍♂️
  4. Suuure... The Thai guy was making a blog, then he thought he saw someone he knew, offered him a ride, then realised he didn't know him, but then he though he did know him again, then realised he definitely didn't know him, so he drove off. 🤦‍♂️ The fact that you feel the need to lie about it, shows that you know that it is wrong, you just like it. Sad.
  5. I would find it difficult to trust the WHO where China is concerned.
  6. Or maybe the Thai hates foreigners and has decided to harass one. That's bad too, isn't it?
  7. This doesn't have anything to do with what I said. You could simply thank me for proving you with much needed insight. 🤷‍♂️
  8. Indeed. In our terminally online world, throw away remarks that express frustration, and were never intended to be taken literally, suddenly get repackaged into declarations of policy to try to generate outrage. People seem to forget that language is full of hyperbole. "I'd like to throttle him", "I could slap you right now", "I'll swing for him", "I tell you what I would like to do...", etc., which are expressions of anger or frustration, not genuine proposals to harm or kill people. To take these remarks and suggest that they are genuine intentions is simply ridiculous. Good people can say daft things sometimes, especially if they are passionate about a subject. If you want to make pathological control of ones own language a necessity for holding public office, I do not believe you will end up with the best people for the job. I think you will get the exact opposite.
  9. You claimed that people say that market forces are never wrong. This is false. Market forces require regulation.
  10. That's more about setting prices and efficient use of resources. It doesn't cover morality or legality. That's why there always needs to be regulation.
  11. No judgement for the Thai who seems to be randomly harassing a foreigner, likely motivated by the fact that he is foreign (racism)?
  12. Sounds like it's more about time and convenience than difficulty.
  13. Why would this affect retirees? Surely Thailand would want to keep their extra income with no real expenditure? Or do you mean the exchange rates?
  14. Perhaps he means, "If the Thais expect foreigners to be racially sensitive towards them, then Thais should be racially sensitive towards foreigners"?
  15. Do you both know the foreigner well and know his name?
  16. We all know that. That isn't what's being discussed at all! 🤦‍♂️
  17. What part of "you could have given your example to me ten times over in the amount of time you've been wasting giving me the run around" don't you get? 🤦‍♂️ Just give the example, if you have it, otherwise, it seems that you don't. 🤷‍♂️
  18. Yes. I told my wife that I thought farang was offensive, but she said what would i know, I'm just a franang. I guess she's right. (Just a joke.)
  19. What does that matter? Do you even know what point you are making? Just casting out random troll lines to see of you can snag a juicy fishy?
  20. I disagree. I think they will still refer to him as farang in the third person.
  21. What are you talking about? You've not made any sort of point. You're so quick to try to troll, you forget to make sense.
  22. I'm not suggesting that Thais don't use proper nouns, but they use farang where a name or a proper noun would be perfectly suitable.
  23. It's not in any way the same. The guy's just trolling. We don't know your wife's name, and her nationality is relevant to the story.
  24. I believe you're wrong. Hence you cannot give an example.
