So, the headline says: UPDATE: Swiss man’s visa revoked Well has he or hasn’t he ?? I don’t see anything in this thread confirming that statement. Are AN jumping on the media frenzy bandwagon ?, or is there news on this story, I don’t see anything .

I think one of the major benefits of Revolut is for British citizens who live constantly under the threat of having their bank account closed at short notice if the bank suspects they are not U.K. resident. I have opened a Revolut account, very simple process, and would be interested to hear any reviews of Revolut, both good and bad.

Yes, apparently it’s the Environmental Protection Agency and probably refers to miles not kilometres, which would explain the vast difference between the other 3 range “ standards “. https://www.recurrentauto.com/research/who-is-the-epa-and-what-is-epa-rating#:~:text=The EPA%2C or Environmental Protection,go on a full charge. -

WLTP seems more realistic, quite a few Atto owners posted on FB they changed from NEDC to WLTP at their respective showrooms for a small fee of course ! Never heard of EPA but appears to be for the owners of lead boots !! Dynamic works for me, obviously there are differences in range between fast highway driving and stop start city driving but with around 75% city and 25% highway i am not far away from WLTP -

BYD Seal tips, tricks and help
Andrew Dwyer replied to macahoom's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Just as a follow up to my rather long story: I suggested that my wife and bil Orr visit the GWM showroom on the premise of changing the name/access to the app, meanwhile Orr could engage a salesperson in a little question and answer session about the Jolion and in particular it’s Hybrid qualities. He declined the suggestion and i get the impression he will continue to drive the car oblivious of the regen settings or the one-pedal mode. Well, i tried ……. -
BYD Seal tips, tricks and help
Andrew Dwyer replied to macahoom's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Actually was at 70% and being on a Sunday I would have charged it to 100% that day, I have a TOU meter. My routine is to leave the range to drop and do a long charge on a Sunday to take advantage of the cheap TOU tariff, normally it would be less than 70% but that week we had been using the Jolion for the short trips to make sure it was all okay. If it gets close to 50% then i charge o/night. On this occasion I could see that I just wouldn’t have enough range to get back home so a quick ice tea at a Bangchak pump ( PEA Volta 50 kWh ) was enough to top up to make it home with 20% and then charge back up to 100% at home. Travelling to the mil’s once a month ( around a 450 km round trip and nearly always on a weekend ) is ideal to get the range down for a long charge back at home for the battery balancing. -

I never said they were sales , it clearly says they were bookings. So what are you trying to say ? all the EV bookings never transpired into sales and the ICE bookings did ? Seems like a feeble attempt to dispute the fact that ev’s received a substantial number of bookings at the Bangkok Motor Show. -

Wonder if Volvo will take them in ( as part of the Geely group ) ? Deepal at least promised a handful of dealerships with the entry of their cars and seems to be paying off. But yes, going to be difficult to sustain all these new EV brands in the short time. But what about the ICE vehicles ?, with 20 to 25% of new car sales going to EV surely there’s going to be some casualties in the ICE market ? I would guess Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Suzuki are all rethinking their strategy. -

So, here’s one that is definitely destined for Thailand and will no doubt create a lot of interest. https://autolifethailand.tv/zeekr-x-thailand-coming-motor-show-2024-march/ At a 1st glance could be let down by the NMC batteries and lower range than the more recent entries but is no doubt interesting. -

MG taking it up a level to compete with Tesla, BYD and Deepal with a SUV and Saloon model of the MG9. Not heard about these cars, and not confirmed for Thailand , but you can see where their influences lie. -
Presumably opening a Revolut account for some is to combat the impending risk of your U.K. bank account being closed. Those who have opened a Revolut account have you had success receiving your U.K. state or company pension ?? I have just opened an account, as Lou did with a Thai telephone number, I used a U.K. address and received a virtual card. I also transferred a minimal amount from my U.K. bank account, all very quick and easy.

Yes, turned out to be the device that wouldn’t upload to AN. All good now.
