Yes !, is the short answer ( the frunk doesn’t even have a lid on it !! ) But at £55k ( 2.4 million baht ) then they are already disgruntled at having to pay another 40% ( my guess ) on top of Thai prices !!

Yes indeed, every EV review video will always quote a “20 - 80% charge in xx minutes” but I wonder if they are just using the max kWh charging capacity for that particular car and ignoring the charging curve, i seem to think so. Plus they are no doubt ignoring the requirements required to achieve max charging ( finding an adequate charger and using it alone ), also the inevitable charging loss. As i have only used 120 kWh chargers for the last 3 months and thanks to the app have the relevant information at hand i decided to determine what my average charging speed has been for the last 1,012.62 kw free charging at Rêvershargers. Now, the 120 kWh charger has given me max speeds of 114 kw when alone or 57 kw when shared on my 150 kw capable Seal. So, a little calculation using the kw’s and time taken tells me that my average charging speed has worked out at 67.50 kWh. So, 67.50 kWh is not too shabby when you take into account sometimes i shared the charger and the charging curve but it is a long way from 120 kWh plus my calculations are based on the actual kw delivered by the charger and not the kw received due to charging loss so take a bit off for that !! But, at least the price is right 😀

Yes, 2407 seems to be the latest system version. Did they mention about the SIM expiry date ?, I see 2026-10-06 ( Oct or June ) is this in line with the 3rd year anniversary ? therefore another year ?

There’s a lot of activity going on at the moment. Got this message just now: Clicking on the blue V number gives me this: So, a very small upgrade, no new features only a little optimization, and no accepting the upgrade, this one was thrust upon me. Apparently, the latest upgrade ( V1.3.1 ? ) is only done at the dealer and changes the system version to 2407. Many having the SIM change find themselves getting a system version update also. Many complaining that the GBox ( YT, NF, etc ) is not working and a few stating cannot start air con via BYD app since the visit to the dealer ( not sure if SIM or system update to blame ). Think i will wait a while for the changes !

Well that is good news and seems like they will extend FOC as there must be some 2 year old Atto’s out there and no mention of requesting payment for extending subscriptions on the FB gossip groups.

Please do, am interested to see what benefits there are with this. I did get my system downgraded to sideload some apps but my GBox app has since gone a little sideways ( seen others on FB with the same problem ) can see my installed apps but cannot install more. Good to know that it is being offered to 13 months old cars, mine is 12 months old in a couple of weeks so will see what happens. A few FBers being refused SIM change if their car is not old enough. It may be a coincidence but seems to coincide with the 2 year anniversary of release of Atto 3 here and the original plan was to start paying for a SIM plan after 2 years. Wonder if BYD have had a rethink and extended the original 2 year plan @BKKBike09 ?, or if the SIM change is to facilitate the new content, YouTube, Netflix etc

I used to listen to the BBC News on the hour also at 107 FM but the reception was bad. Then I discovered this app: Use CarPlay to connect my phone and can listen to BBC News when I want along with a multitude of other radio stations in English. Fark that Thai Khrap !!

Yes, i think it is early days, some reports that dealers are denying knowledge, some doing the SIM change but not loading GBox app and some doing both. Don’t think the update is related other than the new SIM requires some update/reset and the latest version is available, but not for OTA apparently. Our turn will come.

Seeing a lot of chatter on FB BYD groups about changing the SIM card to enable downloading the GBox app ( and subsequent Google apps, YouTube, Netflix, etc ). This is apparently being initiated by BYD dealerships for free and so far i have seen posts from Dolphin and Seal owners. Also an update is performed at the same time , presumably V1.3.1 as already released in Europe. Note new ventilated seats shortcuts on main screen and the multitude of new apps. Apparently takes a couple of hours to complete, will enquire when I get the 1 year service at the end of the month.
