  1. First of all get second tests. Exactly this happened to me recently. I was going on a visa run to Cambodia. Tested positive on pre-flight PCR test. Absolutely zero symptoms. I was told to home quarantine for 10 days.. Got a second test 3 days later: Negative. So i managed to leave just the day my visa expired. I did loose my flights and had to re-apply for Thailand pass, book SHA+ hotels etc. all over again. I was just out of the country 3 days before i returned. In this process i did another 4 tests. All negative. Before I left, I tried to solve the visa situation by contacting the hospital and calling immigration hotline. None of them offered any solution. Immigration told me I could try after i finished quarantine with a medical certificate and i "might" be able to get a backtracked medical extension..
  2. You can buy the 5 year Easy Access for 600K and upgrade it for an additional 15 years at another 400K. (Superiority Extension) Or you can fork out 1 Mill and get the 20 years straight away. What if you paid 500K for the original package as of last year? Is it still only 400K for the upgrade?
  3. Ahh i miss the 80s and 90s when your TV remote was working at he speed of light. Technology is fine but they have a habit of overcomplicating simple things now. Have to put a microprocessor in everything. If you stay in a fancy hotel nowdays you have touch panels to control the lighting. Absolutely backwards and unnecessary.
  4. You can apply for the e-visa while offshore or even better before you leave. Thailand pass has nothing to do with the Visa. If you need tickets for the visa application just rent some, or buy a cheap throwaway. If you qualify for a Non-O family you will only need to do this once per year. Pre-covid i was in your exact situation for over a decade. 6-10 visa exempt entries every year. No problems. Today its uncharted territory as mentioned. Depending on individual history.
  5. In my 18 years of coming to Thailand i have actually never seen or been offered anything "underage". And i have been to many sleazy bars. I don't think its very common to come across. Unless you are looking for it.
  6. Just out of curiosity, what happens to your visa after you are granted a 12 months extension? Is it cancelled? Or do you now have both? Lets say you leave and return with a re-entry permit. Is it possible to make the mistake and actually enter on the visa if its still valid?
  7. If something is missing or wrong, they will most likely contact you rather than decline the application straight away. That's what happened to me anyway with the Non-O application. I got an email requesting the "letter from spouse". (I have read reports on here this was not required). I replied with it and got approved.
  8. You don't need to test anyone actually. Just set the test off with no sample. Your cat might be positive ???? For what its worth i never reported my day 5 test anywhere. Never installed any apps. No instructions to do either at any point.
  9. Yes. You can get a 2 year one. But it depends on the province you stay in. The problem can be obtaining the certificate of residence. Not all immigration offices will issue this on a 30 day stamp. A CoR can also be issued by your embassy. But again the same problem. Will they issue one if you are on visa exempt staying in a hotel? I doubt it. If you are stuck, talk to an agent.
  10. I talked to two different agents about this. One was 35K, the other one 27K (24K if i had the 400K seasoned, which i actually had) But i still had to produce all the paperwork myself in both cases. Pictures, kor-rors etc. Pointless. I'm all for using agents, but in this case it seems its not much good they can do.
  11. You choose tourist visa. (TR). Not STV. Then there is a drop menu where you can choose single or multiple entry.
  12. PCX vs. Aerox.. I have had both. You will never want a PCX again if you had a similar Yamaha. Its like driving a bus in comparison. With the same engine. I do like the look of the ADV type though. Never tried none.
  13. No idea. I got mine last month. I have a friend here at the moment who arrived in early December. He also got a multiple Non-O before he arrived, so it must have been well before that time. I would think the suspension of multiple entry visas had to do with covid? and not because they moved to e-visa applications? They were quite useless anyway during the worst travel restrictions.
  14. No. If your consulate or embassy uses e-visa applications, that's your only option. You will have to choose whatever consulate or embassy you belong to after you start the application.
  15. I like the Aerox, the best scooter i ever had. It does have a few weaknesses. I'm not sure how they compare to the N-Max: -Front suspension is too soft. -Its not really good for passengers. Tail is too high. -Its compact. If you are above 6 feet your knees will hit the plastic covering. Maybe not on the newer models as they had a redesign.
  16. That is the procedure for Phuket. In BKK however the tests are included in the hotel package. I was completely refunded for my day 5.
  17. The embassy websites are not updated. When i looked at different visa types and requirements it showed that both the METV and the multiple Non-O are "temporarily suspended". I was still able to get a multiple Non-O.
  18. Its getting complicated here with all this multi quoting. But yes: I would say more than 95% of all those trips were on visa exempt. One exception was the flight i was questioned at London Heathrow. I had just got a visa then. Since they stopped the easy way of getting multiple Non O's from the Hull consulate in 2010 or 2011, I have had very few visas. I know its a requirement. But in my experience almost never enforced. And if it is, I can handle it.
  19. Well. If all hell breaks loose and you are denied boarding: That "seatbelt" can be put on by booking a ticket there and then. Takes you 5 minutes on a smartphone. Problem solved. Singapore: I have done this probably a dozen times. I remember they asked me sometimes about onward ticket. I just said i didn't have one as i live in Thailand. Then they checked me in. Malaysia: Several times i have either returned on a round trip booked from Thailand or a one way ticket. Never had a problem. UK: Stopped in London once. I actually had a brand new visa at the time from the Hull consulate, so i was OK. I used to fly a lot from Aberdeen to Thailand with KLM. Always one way tickets. Never had a question there. (20+ times) Middle East: I had a gold card with Emirates for a few years. Must have done 30+ one way flights to Thailand. Never asked anything about onward tickets.
  20. Actually i did exactly that in 2018. Worked fine. Maybe it depends on what passport you have? I dont know. Im just saying i almost never had any problmes with this. Im not making things up.
  21. I have done the same. From 2006 until 2020 i had around 100 visa exempt entries. Almost all of them on one way tickets. Probably from 20 or so different countries. I have a stack of passports to prove it. I was stopped twice, and dealt with the situations there and then. I suspect this might be a bigger problem when flying from the UK? More specifically Heathrow? Just lines up with my personal experience and what i have read over the years.
  22. I recently arrived. I was given the ATK test for day 5 by the hotel. No instructions to report the result anywhere. I don't have any apps installed either. When I arrived on ASQ last year i was instructed to download 2 different tracking apps i believe. No such thing now.
  23. List of countries shows Lao PDR and Malaysia. Its not restricted to those nationals. It just means you have to travel from one of those countries when applying for a land border Thailand Pass. (Myanmar and Cambodia not on the list yet)
  24. It worked for me. I was issued a multiple Non-O from the Thai Embassy in my passport country. Then I went to Cambodia for a few days and returned to activate it. However, the e-visa site asks for "Financial evidence". It does not say how much you need to qualify though..? Note that you need a passport from a country where the Thai embassy issues e-visas. This is mainly done only in Europe and the US for now afaik.
