  1. We are speaking about Jomtien who appear to be keep moving goalposts every now and again.
  2. A colleague was at Jomtien today for a Re Entry Permit, the I.O. informed him even though he has a ‘Retirement Visa and lived at the same for years when he returns to Thailand he has to report to Immigration, is this an old rule they have reintroduced ?
  3. Looks like they knock you out in Thailand which would add to the cost, in the U.K. you get the choice, I decided on staying awake and used gas and air once when it was uncomfortable. I watched the whole process on the TV screen above the bed.
  4. At Central Festival in Pattaya you enter by the main doors from Second Road and pass through a scanner which is unmanned. You can walk into the Beauty shop no scanner from 2nd Road pass through it straight into the Mall avoiding the scanner, farce comes to mind.
  5. Isn’t the Chinese economy in decline, maybe that’s why they are not coming, they don’t have any money.

  7. Rod Stewart in Bangkok next March.
  8. My 90 Day Report is due at Jomtien in a couple of weeks, I have a ‘Retirement Visa’, Immigration now require a TM30, what happens if my house owner has never done one ?
  9. Get your facts right Chang is wife neater, great news you won’t be hanging about vetting people as they go into Cheap Charlie’s, we can relax now and carry on wearing our drab clothing
  10. Maybe the clientele can only afford the cheap drab clothing and shower shoes, not everyone is a millionaire. You must walk about blindfolded in Pattaya the attire you describe is what the majority of what foreigners wear more so the shower shoes. Do you walk about with a 3 piece suit, be interesting to know your dress attire ?
  11. Yes more so you don’t know the clientele personally who eat in Cheap Charlie’s and you probably have never set foot in the place, do you stand outside scanning the clientele as they come and go ?
  12. You don’t pay for the ambience, that’s why the prices are reasonable, I have had Guinness in there and I can’t see why you make such a rude comment about the clientele, do you know any of them personally, you are very judgemental and snobbish.
  13. They would be afraid of getting ‘nuked’ TBH the security would be unreal as they are loads of Russians and Ukrainians here who wouldn’t mind a pop at Putin that is if the real Putin turned up not one of his stunt doubles.
  14. Yes but they are being paid not too.
  15. I think some of it makes a lot of sense, Switzerland always remains neutral as did Sweden in ww2.
  16. I have witnessed many ignorant foreigners at the check outs in the supermarkets, one refused to move his trolley, I asked him to as did the check out girl, he just shook his head and walked away with his shopping leaving the trolley blocking the exit, another left his empty basket on the conveyor saying it was not his job to move it when asked to do so. These are just a couple of incidents, no wonder some Thais are sourpusses towards foreigners who tend to look down on Thais as if they are lower class.
  17. If part of their salary relied on tips like in the States they might be more attentive. in the U.K. most hospitality staff go on training courses when working in hospitality and have a vocational qualification.
  18. According to one report there are over 8000 Thai citizens in Israel ?
  19. Most Thais would never complain, it’s not inbred in them, they would just leave the food pay the bill and leave.
  20. Do people actually think Putin will come, I will put my life savings days he won’t, too much of a security risk for him although he could send one of his stunt doubles.
  21. Russia have loads of oil and gas going cheap and plenty of it.
  22. I thought the Baht Buses were part of a cooperative and all the takings were pooled therefore why does it matter who picks what passengers up ?
  23. It just means people will go out later, most have budgets so will spread it out over the longer hours.
  24. With all the new bars 60 in the old Made in Thailand site and many more including Gentleman’s Clubs I think they are all expecting a bumper holiday season, we shall see ?
  25. The members of the winning party elect the PM normally. In places if the public vote for a leader they are voting for a President.
