Where were you drinking certainty not where I was, in general most farangs leave Pattaya as it’s a Thai thing and getting buckets of cold water thrown over them doesn’t appeal to them.
The shortage of bar girls who are certainly not ladies is down to the fact a lot have jumped on to dating apps, no need to sit in a bar getting p***** and being able to chose their clients.
In my 9 years in Pattaya I have noticed a big decline in foreigners coming for the high season which is now shorter more so down to the fact that Thailand isn’t a cheap holiday now with increase in airfares and the poor exchange rates. Why anyone would want to open a bar here is beyond me not unless they are money laundering.
Because the government is made up of old f**** who were brought up in old fashioned system where only the well off could get a decent education for their kids they have no idea about how the kids should be educated in the modern society.
To start with kids education should be free if they really mean business, how many of the girls working in the bar industry had an education, I think next to none of them.
I asked my son what he eats for school dinner, rice and chicken etc usually, I asked no fruit no, sweets from the in school shop he said.
Obviously the school are not concerned about the kids diet,
I arrived back from the U.K. a couple of weeks ago Emirates, Newcastle via Dubai, on both flights the economy seats were full, they ain’t going reduce prices when they are flying full.
On Soi Bukhao the majority of bars selling beer 60 baht although there were very customers in any of the bars similar in New Plaza, Soi 7 and Soi Pothole. The bars on Beach Road had a few customers but not that many. They will all be hoping for a decent high season if there is one but with the high airfares I can’t see it happening unfortunately.
Many Thais don’t live where their House Registrations are, my partner House Registration is in Isaan, I doubt very much we are going travel 12 hours plus house for 10000 baht.
For me the high season starts later now mid November and ends the first fortnight in January, the days of long term holidays for foreigners has disappeared never to return.
Still hotels closed including the one on Soi Bukhao where the dining area is now a cannabis outlet.
For some reason B.A. said they won’t reinstate the direct flight from Heathrow, could be it’s not profitable only 1 flight a day and having to use 2 flight crews. When used the flight pre Covid it was more or less full.
I flew from Utapao to Dubai, looked arabic families people returning home, Fight from Newcastle to Dubai was tourists, Dubai to BKK looked a mixture of returning Thais and tourists.
