  1. Where I live on Soi Arunotai outside the school white/yellow lines, warning lights etc, does anyone take any notice nope. There needs to be a massive graphic campaign on tv, police actually enforcing the laws, I watched a vlog from Vietnam last night, everyone wearing crash hats.
  2. It’s back on in the Metro Bar, in LK Metro, I had a couple the other day, very good 220 baht a pint.

    Eye Test.

I have an appointment with Dr Santa, he only does BHP on Thursdays and Sundays, not Jomtien.
  4. Why would anyone require a lab report not unless they found polyps and removed them as they do in the U.K. during the procedure. I had a colonoscopy in the U.K. a year or so back as blood was detected in a poo sample in the kit provided by the NHS, they send kits out from 60 years old till your 74 years old. The colonoscopy was carried out by a professor, after he had had finished the task he told me there and then I was all clear. I asked where did the blood come from, he said possibly from cleaning your teeth ?
  5. It must be eye watering how much hospitals and others have made from Covid cases, i don’t mean the seriously people, including having a nurse on standby 24 hours a day at quarantine hotels, then the PCR Tests.

I am trying to set up an appointment with Dr Santa, I am waiting for a reply, he is not full time at BPH only a couple of days a week.

    Eye Test.

I was there yesterday, they don’t have the equipment to do the vision eye test for a prescription nor check the vision on my specs, They called Bangkok Pattaya where I attended before, they do not have the device to check the strength of my spectacles either.. Jomtien suggested going to Top Chareon which I won’t be because of my past expensive experience with them.

    Eye Test.

Thanks for the info, I only want an eye test, I don’t require any diagnosis or treatment.

I am specifically looking at Pattaya, I don’t have transport.

    Eye Test.

I had an eye test at Top Chareon a couple years back, on returning to the U.K. my optician told it was the wrong prescription so I had wasted my money basically. I have cataracts not serious enough to be operated on and glaucoma, is there anywhere I could have a proper eye test not one done with a young person who is only interested in selling you new spectacles in Pattaya ? Not Bangkok Pattaya hospital because all they appear to be interested in is trying to sell a package for my cataracts but at the same time admitting I might not be able see any better after having them done at just under 69000 baht an eye.
  11. Similar problems in the U.K., staff were laid of during Covid, they found better terms and conditions elsewhere so never returned. Brexit was another factor, a lot of foreigners returned home as they needed a visa but probably have found work in their home country now. One of the biggest shortage is collecting fruit and vegetables on farms. Years ago students used to do it but the foreigners mostly Eastern Europeans housed in port aka ins were recruited as they were cheaper.
  12. Even if she got a 2 year visa she could only stay 6 months, I think she would have to stay in Thailand for 6 months before returning for the next 6 months.
  13. I have had some Guinness in the Metro Sports Bar in LK Metro, 220 baht a pint, tbh the same as in the U.K., fully air conditioned and over 12. TVs, no girls pestering you. Around 30 farangs in the bar, the Thai lady knew exactly how to pour it albeit I think she was was frustrated she had to do 75% let it settle then 25% to top it up. i spoke with owner, very popular seller he sad, it was imported from Dublin unfortunately when the current stock runs it out it takes a month for the next delivery. I am not sure why they didn’t re order before they ran out ?
  14. 240 baht a pint and in stock I have been told.
  15. Is there anywhere in Central Pattaya where there is football coaching for kids, my son is 7 years old and likes kicking a ball about.
  16. Witherspoons are cutrentlt advertising it on their Facebook Page, anyone tried it and how much for a pint.
  17. My local pub in the U.K. had 2 Guinness pumps. One was chilled the other was extra cold, they removed the chilled pump as they said there was no demand for it.
  18. I used buy OSH in bottles in the U.K., I am sure The Punch and Judy pub opposite Caddy Shack sold it, I am not sure if it is still a pub though.
  19. OSH, used to be leg collapsing stuff but they reduced ABV from 5.2% to 4.5% in the keg version to make it more sessionable according to Moreland brewery who brew it. Hi
  20. So how is it served, Guinness is served as extra cold in the U.K., it goes through a double chilling process.
  21. What does it matter how some one dresses, you are being very judgemental, every one in general wears flip flops and shorts in Thailand and Asia or do you wear. a 3 piece suite when you go out ? What do you drink Gin and Tonic with your pinky in the air.
  22. A few years ago Guinness brought out a machine called a Nitrosurger, the cans didn’t have a widget, prior to opening you put the can on the machine which vibrated the Guinness, I believe they sell the the machine in the U.K. not sure how readily the cans are.
  23. Well that was quite a session on Guinness, we will all be well oiled now !
  24. Maggie May on Soi Pothole used to serve up a great pint of Guinness at a decent price and it come with a shamrock on the head. It’s now a Gentleman’s Club, I can think of other names what a Gentleman’s Club is though is and what goes on behind closed doors and the price of a pint has increased substantially. I just want to enjoy a decent pint with out the ‘extras’ !
