  1. I do not know how Line works exactly but it is very unlikely that it downloads all contacts each time on a new login. I believe it stores contacts in cache on the phone, so I suggest to go to the nearest phone repair shop and ask to dump contacts from the memory card. +
  2. as I've answered in your other topic already - the import tax is random here, including laptops. you could read this thread, I share my experience there https://aseannow.com/topic/1224885-ordering-a-lenovo-thinkpad-4-weeks/page/3/ not everything though
  3. Once I've got charged 10% extra for used hard drives (17% tax total), and once was not charged even the VAT for a new expensive SSDs, so it is random. the duty varies from 0% to 10% (plus 7% VAT so it's from 0% to 17%)
  4. no, the amount to pay will depend on the mood of the customs officer inspecting your package. And you'll be left with a choice - either pay what they want or forget about your laptop. the import tax includes shipping and insurance. more info here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1224885-ordering-a-lenovo-thinkpad-4-weeks/page/4/ this is Thailand - there is no straight answer to any question.
  5. Of course when you live on a pension and use only cash to buy rice, chicken and beer, you won't ever need Paypal. However there are some people in our world who still work and who buy some stuff in the Internet.
  6. As you might know already - Paypal will close your account soon if you are not a Thai citizen https://aseannow.com/topic/1274516-paypal-re-registration-now-requires-thai-national-id-card/ I have a lot of recurring monthly payments made with Paypal and sometimes I make random purchases with Paypal so now I will have to use a credit/debit card instead. And I do not want to use my real cards on every single website for security purposes. Do I understand correctly that I will have to open a new bank account to get a new card? I have accounts in 3 different banks and neither of them has an option to issue a single-use virtual credit card or to set a spending limit per card instead of per account.
  7. There are no alternatives as widely accepted as Paypal. I'm afraid I will have to open a new bank account to get a card for online payments, as I don't know if it is possible to issue multiple cards linked to same account and set limit per card instead of limit per account.
  8. Facebook is going to die, the successful concept of a social network was replaced with a failed concept of jerking off in virtual reality goggles in the "Metaverse", but the top managers are refusing to admit the failure. and conforming to the current agenda they continue to hire managers of cultural diversity and managers of gender diversity and managers of color diversity while firing the developers.
  9. it is normal for Facebook, especially with computers made more than 3 years ago.

  11. I do not know your trading strategies but usually for trading one needs a fast internet responce instead of high internet speeds, so a wireless internet is not a good idea because it adds 50-100 extra ms to the ping time.
  12. Huawei - powerful, customizable, reliable. For example, B715 model is category 9 device (capable of 3x carrier aggregation) and has external antenna ports for a better network coverage. *NOTE: Huawei is a leader in mobile networking only, anything else other than 3G routers made by Huawei is utter cr'ap.
  13. A "pocket wi-fi" devices are not very good as they have small antennas because of their size, I recommend buying a full-size 4G router instead. Unfortunately my favourite brand models are well above your budget so wait for other recommendations, some people say TP-Link 4G routers are ok. or search this subforum: https://aseannow.com/forum/146-mobile-devices-apps/
  14. Most likely a hardware error. Check the motherboard for leaked or bulged capacitors. Also it could be a bad contact because of oxidation in a humid climate. Try to disconnect everything from the motherboard and connect back - first of all the RAM, storage, and PCI devices. Take out all memory modules and put them back in, then disconnect the hard drive (both ends of the cable - the motherboard side and the drive side too) and connect back, then disconnect the video card (if you have it) and put it back. If it did not help then try to reconnect everything else.
  15. if you have an Android phone then open the Gallery, then this video, and check the "three dots" menu while the video is open. Some phones have a function to shrink or trim a large video. If there is no such option then you could lower the video quality in any video editor on the computer, I personally use this one https://shotcut.org/ although it might be too complex for such a simple job. yea Avidemux should be easier https://sourceforge.net/projects/avidemux/files/avidemux/2.8.1/
  16. turn on the "flight mode" on your phone, wait for 5 minutes, turn off the flight mode. or shutdown your phone, wait for 5 minutes, and power it on again.
