Belgian MMA Fighter Tackles Indian Gang in Pattaya Brawl
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Learning to defend oneself is pretty important in the world today. Just don't bring a machete to a gun fight. -
YouTuber Labels Phuket Myanmar Community 'Slum,' Faces Backlash - video
Purdey replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Anyone who travels around Thailand knows that impoverished farmers live in tin huts like these. People are just embarrassed when the real state of living in Thailand is exposed. The Good Shephard foundation is helping people without the means to survive. -
Thaksin Dismisses US Sanctions Over Uyghur Deportations
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am half joking when I say that the Uyghur prisoners would have been welcome to seek asylum in the United States. They would have then been sent to El Salvador. -
Boycott of US goods spreading worldwide poor donald
Purdey replied to 3NUMBAS's topic in Political Soapbox
America is a capitalist country. It is a business that needs to buy and sell goods. If it's marketing plan goes doolally, it will sell less. That's market forces. People don't like your image, they go elsewhere.- 289 replies

Purdey replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
No mention of any crimes in Thailand. At least the joint cooperation of the two police forces worked out in the end. -

Thailand Cuts Visa-Free Stay to 30 Days to Combat Abuse
Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I wonder how many people were tricked into buying tickets based on a 60-day visa? Obviously, the two months visas were working, that's why there are so many tourists. I don't like crowds more than the next person, but raising expectations and flip flopping back will not help the country's tourism industry. -
US deploys “overwhelming lethal force” against Houthis in Yemen
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I have to admire this man of peace treating Houthis as Ukraine treats Russians (who are also terrorists). Libya has a lot of potential as a new Riviera. -

Purdey replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Rather than stay in an expensive private hospital, perhaps he could move to a government hospital. It is often the same doctors, just a different price. -
Why is All the Hate Towards Russia and Not China?
Purdey replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
McCarthy was against all communists but focused on Russia. He destroyed many careers. It seems now McCarthyism had returned but now it's against everybody who is not in a cult. -
They could be terrorists. We will never know for sure because no court declared them as such after seeing all the evidence. No judge or jury found them guilty.

Several presidents have used an autopen. It isn't illegal. However, any president who magically declassifies documents by just saying, "I hereby declare you declassified!" Is in trouble.

Mosquito Bite Triggers Chronic Illness in British Man Post-Holiday
Purdey replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
A relative got malaria in the brain after visiting Koh Samet. She went insane for a while and was sectioned by her husband until the doctors figured out what was wrong. This is a tropical country. Expecting it to be similar to the west, can lead to trouble. Mosquito repellent is better than nothing. -
Motorbike Clash: Tourist and Ladyboy Tussle on Pattaya Streets - video
Purdey replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Asking her to get off so that you can drive it is one thing. Teling her to get off when you aren't about to drive it is something else. Guys forget that they might be beautiful but they punch like men. Better to smile and speak politely. -

Purdey replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
People dying in prison cells. Hope this isn't a trend. -
Trump Eyes Rarely Used Alien Enemies Act for Deportation Plans
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I missed something. When did Congress declare war on anyone? Using a law illegally is opening the door to other illegal actions. What next? Kicking out those of German descent because they were against America in WWII? -
Government Falls Short on Teacher Recruitment Amid Record Shortages
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If they target 6,500 new teachers, and it takes 4 years to train a teacher, we can't expect to see them in classes before 2029 (not counting those already in teacher training). It is a good idea but will take time. The way people are talking about it makes it look like they expect more teachers this year. -
Portugal’s Immigration Boom Sparks Political Upheaval
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This is a disaster for Portugal. Invaded by rich legal immigrants? With eggs at roughly $3.20, Portugal needs a leader who is able to handle the problem.
