    As we have just seen with the May 1st holiday, tourist destinations are reporting a down turn as most people spent their hard earned over Songkran and therefore simply don't have the disposal income to continue paying for further leisure activities.

    Sadly it seems to me that Thailand is going down the US route of gun Muppetry. Why isn't the government doing anything about guns here? Oh, because it's the police and army selling them...

    My son has just completed an engineering degree and I would be delighted if he started on 20k.

    The only reason they want to become police officers is because of the salary top ups at checkpoints and elsewhere, not to mention the government pension.

    Nationwide currently but if they ever decide that they are going to close non resident accounts, I have already opened an account with Wise that I will transfer my pension payments into instead. I believe that if you are not already an account holder when you become an expat, then you won't be able to open an account after you have upped sticks with the main stream banks.

    My office usually call when it's ready for me to pickup. Obviously not all will do this.

    There are plenty of cheap hotels for less than 600 baht, search on Agoda and use the price per night limit. I can recommend PJ Inn, Sutus Court etc Any gym would only be a baht bus ride away 10 baht a trip. Loads of ordinary Thai restaurants serving good quality cheap food all around Soi Buakhao.

    Standard stuff here for paths and drives. Mine has been fine for 14 years.

    A part of living here is being involved in the local culture and activities as far as I am concerned. Be it with people of any age or gender. The young lads can get a tadge boisterous after some alcohol but I believe the same applies almost anywhere.

    Mine is up 33% compared to the same month last year, air conditioning only used at night in 3 bedrooms, live in Isaan near Yasothon.

    His current home is a bunker on a army base in which he lives free of charge, does he expect to continue living there after his defeat at the polls, bearing in mind that you can't find his name on any ballot paper, yet again.

    A friend of mine just used to pay the last bill he got before going home after a few months and then got them to reconnect upon his return by paying a fee at his local True shop. Not sure if this is still the case but my dealings with them have always been effective through the call centre.

    I was in Pattaya recently and it was noticeable that the number of girls vaping has increased. Here in Isaan it is very, very rare to see someone vaping, either in town or in the villages.

    I believe that because you broke the chain of extensions and now have a gap of 5 months since your last extension expired last November, you are being treated as a completely new applicant. Therefore as far as Thai immigration is concerned your past history no longer counts.
