Immigration - totally useless
DrJack54 replied to Foxx's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Points 1,2,3 irrelevant. Your post started with sentence .... " The system works if you use it correctly." That is incorrect. There are numerous posts in this forum from folk (including Me) that have done what you outlined in your post and have had online report rejected. -

Immigration - totally useless
DrJack54 replied to Foxx's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I can assure you that in many cases it's not due to incorrect submission of the online report. BTW: which immigration office? -
That will work. After marriage you can apply for 60 day extension based on "visit Thai wife" if you need to buy time. For the non O marriage you require 400k in Thai bank account in your name only on day of application. Which immigration office? Some advice and links in this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1315828-visa-exempt-to-90-day-non-o-spouse-visa-conversion-in-thailand/

So tired of these posts. Great news it works for you and many others. I can assure you it is fractured for many and it's not down to incorrect filing in of the fields. I have (like many) been rejected even using auto fill after previous successful report.- 135 replies

It does not. Far from it. There are numerous posts on AseanNow regarding rejection of online report. Including the list of "conditions" you posted. I have 4 rejections from online (CW) despite successful online reporting in the past and as result have done in person. It's fine till online falls out of love with you.- 135 replies

Thai Bank Account - 800k deposit
DrJack54 replied to qwab32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, for 12 month extensions the funds do NOT need to be shown as transfers from abroad. You have no issues. For the first extension you need to have funds seasoned for 2 months prior to date of application. -

They certainly have. You mention CW in OP. In the return envelop they will also include the photocopies that you posted with the TM47 With online report...assume you used magnifying glass auto fill after entry of name and pp # field -

Do your 90 day reports via mail. Pretty much bullet proof -
What are my options?
DrJack54 replied to daeumtnaot's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You need a Thai bank account in your name only with 800k in account on day of application for non O. For those with visa exempt entry in order to open a bank account consider use of an agent. -

DrJack54 replied to daeumtnaot's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
"non O retirement" is the way it's referred to however somewhat misleading. The requirement for non O is that you are over 50yrs. A condition on the visa type and subsequent extensions is that you do not work in Thailand. A non O retirement can be obtained at Thai consulates/embassies (also eVisa) in various countries A non O retirement can be also be obtained at local immigration office from visa exempt or tourist visa entry. Outlined in thread I posted to link earlier. -

DrJack54 replied to daeumtnaot's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Wife is a Thai national? So they entered how. Which pp did they use You can obtain a single entry non O based on retirement from a visa exempt entry. There is no need to renounce anything. The non O is used upon entry and gives a 90 day permission of stay. That permission of stay can be extended by 12 months ongoing and has financial requirements. While your plans may be fluid better information would be provided if you outline some sort of plan Here is thread that outlines process from visa exempt to non O retirement. -

I was just about to give a thumbs up but your post needs a double confirmation. OP, is this a serious thread? I note your other posts re TDL out there. -
What are my options?
DrJack54 replied to daeumtnaot's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sounds bizarre to me given entire family in tow. You mention "work remotely" if online work can support family of 4 fine. Opening a bank account on a visa exempt would require an agent. It's not impossible to obtain a certificate of residence to obtain TDL. To obtain a TDL you would also require passport country licience. You still have not made clear details apart from located CM. What is current history of stay in Thailand. Would seem 60 (visa exempt) + 30 (extension) From CM you have border run options to Laos. Suggest a border run company. @Tod Daniels has thread regarding this. Visa exempt border bounces most likely best option till you sort out plans. -
What are my options?
DrJack54 replied to daeumtnaot's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No offense but clearly you have zero knowledge of options. Certificate of residence is irrelevant. Forget that. Best option is a border bounce for another visa exempt entry. That can also be extended by 30 days. Added information required. Where are you located. You state came with family? Details. Passport country How long are you hoping to stay in Thailand. What's the actual plan -

Money in the Bank Seasoning
DrJack54 replied to bluemoon58's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Correct. Note for others: by applying early you do not lose days. The 12 month extension is from the expiry date. The seasoning side of using funds in the bank is based on application date. -
Money in the Bank Seasoning
DrJack54 replied to bluemoon58's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Funds must be in the account based on date of application for extension not date of expiry of permission of stay. 800k two months prior to application and 3 months after application. Not below 400k in the other months -
So today annual trip. Not really a report just couple of observations. I booked and appointment for TM47 and also one for extension. Tip 1. As I only had 3 days remaining on my permission of stay the io wanted me to obtain the extension first. (error by me) This year I obtained bank statements (I use money in bank method) Tip 2. I was using an FD account together with savings account (same bank) I subsequently closed the FD account after 3+ months of obtaining extension and moved funds into savings a/c. My mistake the teller at my local bank wanted the canceled bank book. This caused an issue with immigration today as they wanted "old" bb. Tip 3. Obtain the 12 month bank statement day prior (I realize not possible with BBL) also bank letter. The K bank was packed today at 8.30. All wanting bank letter etc. However ticket to make 100b deposit to update bb and show activity was zero que. Tip 4. I have always followed the useful reports on AseanNow however this year and previous, I just attended one of the photocopy print shops level 1, told them "I need visa extension and also 90 report" they know exactly what is required. (yes I know visas are not extended) Many photocopies listed in reports in this forum not required. This year (first time ever I supplied a TM30) Also map + bank letter (obtained day prior) showing ownership and balance. For the 90 report go to far right of que ticket lines and show hard copy print out of your appointment For the extension walk straight to doc check (first desk in L area). I asked the head io (rear area of L34) about changing to income method next extension. She said maintain the 800k for 3 months and be able to show 12x 65k(min) monthly bank deposits transfered from abroad along with credit advice from bank.

Residence certificate requirements?
DrJack54 replied to JTXR's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Same day is not possible CW. 200b and certificate posted ems ~5 days -
He wants a DTV. Not a border bounce. OP, if using agent it's expensive process. Most offer package that includes accommodation, transport etc to Savannakhet. Cost 100-120k and allow approx 5 days.
