I obtained my current extension last Nov (retirement money in bank) Anyway the gf accidentally dipped my balance by 2k below 800k . I said.. Do you realize I now have to exit Thailand and start over. Fortunately I overlooked that I had a dormant bank account with a lazy 10k that will get me out of jail. Financial compliance is very strict with immigration. The 2k dip was for 2 days. No way would immigration overlook that. Rubbish imo.

What do you mean "if I use the 800k method now" Financial compliance is checked retrospectively. In February they will check financials back till start of current extension. Actually even 2 months prior to current extension. You could exit Thailand and start over with new Non O retirement

Just advice for others... Siam Legal stopped offering open bank service in recent times. No idea why he bothered with border out/in. 2k max fine. Also why didn't agent deal with the 90 reporting.

Are you asking about obtaining a Non O marriage eVisa? You should consider Savannakhet. Pay fee at embassy then apply online. Reports process almost overnight.

Oh 100% best option. Funny how some items for extension marriage is a non issue for many yet by way of example I would not accept home visit. I would opt for retirement even if I was married.

Pretty naive post IMO. Agents can deal with CW to obtain extension retirement without the financials. No issue. Granted slightly more expensive than Pattaya. CW charges 200b for COR. You simplify the requirements almost implying that the financials are remotely similar. For extension marriage using money in bank method the 400k only needs to be seasoned for two months and can then be used. Very sweet deal. For extension retirement the 800k needs to be in the bank for 2 months prior + 3 months after extension and not below 400k in other months. Referred to as Apples and Oranges

Just by way of a balanced review.. I had opposite experience. Back pre covid I was avid flyer/traveller. (late starter) As a result I would book a whole year of flights in the main with AirAsia and Jetstar. I had SOOOO many pre booked and paid flights with AA when covid hit. I swapped for credits for future flights zero issue. Jetstar on the other hand a disaster. Lost money. NZ is a mino country. What population 5m ? The route was cancelled. Not surprising

Non O gives a 90 day stamp. Up to you. I assume that's not based on taxation concerns. Having a Thai wife thinking annual 12 month extensions with a reentry permit makes better sense.

If you haven't at this point obtained a 30 day extension then that's an option. Flights to and from Cambodia no problem.

The issue is also possibility of being asked for flight out of Thailand and perhaps accommodation. Hopefully @Tod Daniels can advise. He generally has recent first hand reports.
