  1. Try and post accurate information. Your post is nonsense. As I pointed out earlier, if there ever was an issue you can step back from check in desk and book throw away flight online in couple of minutes with confirmation (less than 2kb) BTW find me ONE report of "onwardticket" or similar was not accepted.
  2. It's not clear how/why the "friend" did not do 90day reports. I didn't do a 90 day report for my first 7 years in Thailand due to frequent travel out/return. Only when covid hit did I do my first TM47
  3. Scaremongering nonsense. Apart from that ....folk always have a fall back plan flying visa exempt. That being any issue with boarding pass step away from check in and book a throw away ticket. eg Bangkok to Saigon. Obviously requires wifi.
  4. Plenty of reports of that working. Moreso when you actually have a real onward flight within 60 days. Don't think it would work eg Saigon to Bangkok. Surprised you don't plan an itinerary. Especially for only 70 days. Canada to Bangkok with outbound within 30 days...eg Saigon. Saigon to Bangkok (visa exempt) with your return flight to Canada as your onward flight. Next time replace Vietnam with Japan. Wash and repeat. Have you been to Japan. Spending few days there is backpacker "been there done that" nonsense. For future trips be aware that Thai are given 15 days visa exempt to Japan and note day 1 count is day after you arrive.
  5. OP, your plan using visa exempt entries will work fine. METV is overkill. Airlines at departure for flights to Thailand may very well require proof of onward travel. For flight from eg Vietnam to Thailand airline 100% will require onward flight. For Japan you (gf) won't obtain a boarding pass without onward flight. Regarding future trips... It's all about how long you spend out of Thailand between visits. And time spent in Thailand. Some folk enter visa exempt obtain extension and fly out/return same day. Then wonder why scrutiny from immigration. Your travel plans are different. You can plan itinerary accordingly or purchase rent a ticket. Such sites as "onwardticket.com" Aside: just one person's opinion ....to include all those countries within 70 days is over top.
  6. Assume that you obtained 30 day extension to your most recent visa exempt entry. 1900b at local immigration office
  7. You are missing the "Catch 22" . To obtain the non O from visa exempt entry you require money in Thai bank account in your name only. Bank account first followed by Non O.
  8. Expires as you exit without reentry permit. Mentioned earlier that this is a way to change date. Could reenter visa exempt at a time that suits required new date. Use TM87 to change to non O retirement and obtain subsequent 12 month extension. The new date for annual extensions would be 12 months from date of application. No negative repercussions.
  9. Not possible. Guys that are married to Thai national can obtain a "60 day extension to visit wife" That changes their annual due date. No option for unmarried guys. If passport is due to expire in less than 12 months a person could obtain an extension that will have expiry same date as pp expiry. That of course changes your annual expiry.
  10. You make it sound like a walk to the 7/11. Ever been to CW? There is plenty of information on AseanNow to cover this simple process Helps when folk disclose the immigration office in question.
  11. Maintain the 800k till your next extension. Your wife will need to be with you. After you obtain the extension based on marriage and obtain final stamp after under consideration period you can withdraw all the money. Just requires you to take it back up to 400k two months prior to next extension. Be aware that your new annual extension date with change to the date of change from based on retirement to marriage. This attached thread includes a link from ubonjoe re requirements. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=942532&key=2b9c0a3aeb8537d334f181402709b16c
  12. Seems that your friend entered on single entry non O visa (based on retirement) Gives 90 day stamp and then obtained a 12 month extension to that permission of stay. Indeed that FIRST extension should start his count clock for his first 90 day report.. Seems his immigration office put start clock to date of entry. After first extension, subsequent extensions have nothing to do with 90 day reports.
  13. Disagree. In Bangkok most banks will require a certificate of residence or letter from embassy. Problem is that some embassies do not provide that service.... The certificate of residence from CW requires you to have made a TM47 report. Not possible with visa exempt or tourist visa. The one possible exception is to purchase insurance policy from bank. Bangkok bank being one example that "would you like fries with that" For some reason it seems some agents have stopped providing this service. Thinking Siam Legal is one example. @ThaiVisaCentre perhaps another. Agents in Pattaya no problem. Also possible to obtain a certificate of residence in many office outside of Bangkok without a TM47.
  14. Thanks for update. Thinking this is important shift for those entering visa exempt with several entries. Perhaps you would of had more grilling without that onward flight. Did you buy actually ticket or "rent a ticket"
  15. Seriously... Read your posts and most are poor information. I posted earlier current requirements to open a bank account from a visa exempt or tourist visa. Your information is out of date and irrelevant.
  16. OP, on a tourist visa you will require an agent. Where are you located in Thailand
  17. Firstly he cannot obtain a 30 day extension. Second he will need to show 12 months of monthly transfers of 65k. Even if his embassy provides "income letter" that will not happen by next week. Seems need to exit Thailand and start over
  18. You need to do printout. The io will ask for hard copy of visa to cross check with photo page of your pp.
  19. Should not be a problem. BTW: It's a "60 day extension to visit wife" In future be aware that you do not lose days by applying early for extension. You could have applied some time ago.
  20. Personally not a big fan of watching bloggers, however think you can learn a lot from some. You mention Pattaya. There is one blogger in particular.. American guy with very professional vids on YouTube... " Rides 4 Kickz" Does things like recent video beaches from North Pattaya to past Jomtien.. Along with MANY other topics. Lot of material out there. Mr Google is your friend.
  21. As far as I'm aware, there is no requirement for insurance. Thread with detailed report of obtaining METV (eVisa) in UK did not mention insurance
  22. During "under consideration period" you do not go into overstay waiting for final approval.
