Glad someone else has picked up on this. Just an annoyance.

Only two visa exemptions BY LAND per calendar year. Unlimited visa exempt via air but if done ongoing with little time out of Thailand you can be warned and refused entry. Ripper joint means fantastic place. I prefer to stay Bui Vien district 1. Very lively. You are visa exempt for entry to Vietnam. Nice deal. You have better options that what you have been using for stays in Thailand

If reading your post correctly you are currently in Thailand. A SETV from Saigon consulate requires an appointment. Thinking they are booked weeks in advance. Disregard the current thread where guy was refused entry with a tourist visa. That can happen but rare and his history is far more extensive than yours. Flying back Saigon to CNX visa exempt ,doubt you would have any issues. Why spend such a short time in Saigon. Ripper joint. Have you used both your visa exempt border entries the calendar year? That would be simple option.

There is a Bangkok forum . Find it in "Local Forums" rather than "Visa forum"

OP, Just about all rubbish posts above. You have zero issues with your plan. Assuming that you will avoid public work spaces. ZERO issues. Bit off topic but some oil/gas workers work 30 on off off and use Extensions based on retirement with a multi reentry permit. -

Passport expiring, reentry ok?
DrJack54 replied to 10years's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not that I'm aware of. Thailand is an outliner. Just one example Vietnam required 6 month validity Again ....the OP was foolish not to plan ahead. -

Many threads on this . Perhaps read 2nd reply from our esteemed ubonjoe. https://aseannow.com/topic/1255340-passport-validity-when-entering/ Having stated that bit silly op did not renew his passport. -

That will appear on most countries embassies websites. Fact is they are just using standard 4inch paint brush. Too much effort to be country specific. -

Passport expiring, reentry ok?
DrJack54 replied to 10years's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My reading is that entering Thailand with + 6 months on pp. Then taking a side trip (eg Vietnam) and returning to Thailand with less than 6 months on pp. Then flight home. Thailand unlike many countries does not have the "6 months rule" The issue is that many airlines do -

Be specific rather than type mindless reply. I can help....." The stamps are genuine" Just one example ....how is that "rubbish" It's either correct or not. -
Retirement visa without the 800,000 baht
DrJack54 replied to Bernard LP's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As I stated you are naive. "Up country" extensions based on retirement have been around since Adam was a boy. The stamps are from immigration offices. You imply by some rogue immigration officer. Seriously nonsense. Clearly agent extension is not for you. No problem. Just get off the soap box. BTW: I do my own extensions using 800k+ all hear round. Perhaps when mobility becomes an issue I will use an agent. -
Passport expiring, reentry ok?
DrJack54 replied to 10years's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good question. OP if your second entry to Thailand is a visa exempt with less than 6 months on your passport any issue will not be with Thai immigration on landing. The issue would/might be with airline at departure. A copy of onward flight out of Thailand thinking would satisfy airline. -

Your rants in many threads crying wolf regarding the use of agents is very boring in the extreme. Folk can make their own choices based on research without some posters boring rhetoric.
