To each their own. Extensions from a non O-A have some specific requirements. Guys on extensions from Non O can choose to have what cover they want along with no insurance if that's their choice.

Think it was the way the OP expressed it. I take it he is coming off extension based on retirement. I'm doing same thing and my most recent extension (CW) was done on Nov 5. I had discussion with head io rear of L32. I told her I have been making monthly transfers and will continue till time for next extension and show 12+ monthly transfers. Her reply...."no problem. Make sure 800k stay in bank for 3 months" That was already my understanding.

I think you are meaning a "border bounce" indeed sometimes referred to as visa run. Indian nationals now can receive a 60 day visa exempt entry. This initially was till Nov 11, however this was changed and seems will continue to be available indefinitely.

One small benefit of the tourist visa is requirement (some) airlines have for onward flight. I always need to show Jetstar my reentry permit. If visa exempt I would need onward flight.

In other words not "unlimited" Folk with multiple visa exempt entries can/will be questioned by immigration (esp airports) Those that visit with little time between the visits may be advised to obtain a visa. The 2 entry limit per calendar year via Land was removed earlier this year. (June?) There is no stated limit on number of entries per year via air

I assume you previously obtained a Tourist eVisa. Can't imagine anyone obtaining a tourist eVisa when visa exempt provides same 60 day permission of stay and both can be extended by 30 days. The threads discussing eVisa and changes in places such as Laos is of interest to folk looking for eg Non O. No one will be applying for a tourist eVisa. Note: visa exempt entries are not unlimited.

Financial requirements are retrospective. When you apply for next extension immigration will look back on previous 12 months. I assume you do not have "income letter" from your embassy. Edit: just checked your posts. USA. So yes you need to do what I outlined in my first post. That seems to fly opposite to almost every other person living ongoing in Thailand extensions from a non O-A. Some guys continue with the non O-A and obtain the extension based on marriage as insurance is not required. Not married to Thai then extensions require insurance.

Changing from money in bank method to income you will need to maintain the 800k in bank for 3 months after current extension and simultaneously commence the monthly transfers of 65k. This is to show 12 monthly transfers at time of next extension. BTW: did you not consider option to kill off the non O-A and change to non O..

Surprised Ubon office will not provide 60 day extension to visit wife from visa exempt entry. Here is a cut/paste from ubonjoe.. "You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. It does not matter what visa you used for entry. It can even be applied for to extend a visa exempt entry"

That's a good place to obtain TDL. I renewed from 2 to 5 year license in June 2023. TM7. So you are applying for 30 day extension to the visa exempt entry OR 60 day extension to visa wife. Both use TM7 The TM47 is used for 90 day reports

What you outlined that you currently have should be sufficient to obtain COR. Which immigration office? Regarding your TDL yes you will need a COR also medical Where are you renewing license?

Two completely separate things. The folk wanting eVisa would be for a Visa eg Non O marriage/retirement. A border bounce for 60 day stamp from visa exempt entry is a different animal. Unrelated

The 2013 is out of date. Things changed dramatically in recent times. Your Welsh neighbor experience is atypical. Don't know vaguely what you mean by "as a guarantee" The OP is married and still has no success. Which bank and where was your neighbor successful. Did he purchase insurance

Different strokes for different folks. I regard myself as the friendly type at places such as bars etc. however as far as some random official coming to do a home visit that's a No No for me. In any event I think the OP has decided not to do Non O extensions marriage..

I understood what you meant. In particular Non O popular at places in Laos... Savannakhet and Vientiane. Hopefully the process time will be under 5 days. Anything much longer would become unattractive option. Moreso as there is option to border bounce and obtain the Non O in Thailand from visa exempt entry. The added kicker is that seems no online payment possible for the eVisa in Laos as least in initial months.
