  1. Sadly often that's true. I'm Oz and embassy will not be providing "letter". I am obtaining new pp this year. This link has a form that I will take along as a back up. It's #22 on the immigration list of forms https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=3202
  2. The immigration office/officer was wrong. Oz embassy has not issued letter for several years.
  3. That is correct. That is basically what I have posted in earlier threads. No sure when they stopped. There is current thread just started now stating that USA will also stop providing the letter. Unrelated but be aware that Oz embassy in Bangkok also do not provide letter that can be used in lieu of certificate of residence.
  4. Pretty sure only required if you obtain pp renewal in Thailand. There is also a form from immigration available. Think it's #22 https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=3202
  5. When the extension (based on marriage) was about to expire you changed to "based on retirement" ? You were lucky since normally the wife would need to attend immigration with you.
  6. Bit left field ....did you consider doing a TM30 change of address in order to use CW instead of Nonthaburi.
  7. We fly to Osaka twice a year and yes flight out of Japan always asked for. Thai gf is given 15 days visa exempt stamp.. Info for others taking a Thai national to Japan....the airline is very strict on counting the days in Japan. Strangely day 1 count for Japan starts the day after you arrive.
  8. @CapraIbex First up there is no time limit apart from doing the transfer of stamps prior to immigration doing the extension. Can be done on same visit. However in the past sometimes Jomtien made you come back at certain time such as "come back after 3pm" or " come back tomorrow" My advice would be to do the transfer early doors as to not complicate the extension process.
  9. Many threads regarding this. Some in marriage and divorce forum and some even banking and finance forum. I suggest that all farang expats living in Thailand have a Will. Here is thread and covers having wife as signatory in bank book.
  10. This is normal. Wife presence needs to show previous extension based on marriage is valid Meaning you did not divorce during that year.
  11. Useless post. Rubbish. I have a 10 year partner. Not married. She has my bank details. Against law to withdrawal funds upon death.
  12. Usual rambling post. Previously on ignore Back to that status.
  13. As you know J the financials for extensions married are a good deal and the option to work as against extension retirement is useful to many.
  14. Not familiar with that office. Hopefully there is access to photocopy machine as some offices go over the top with required pp pages. Assume you can provide TM30 screenshot from hotel or similar. This is often required.
  15. Immigration office? Normally: TM7 with photo. 1900baht. Basic photocopies of passport pages. TM30..
  16. Guess it's as you say immigration office variation thing. I was under the impression that if reason extension based on changes (eg typical based on marriage to retirement or visa versa) that the extension would start from date of application.
  17. The OP exited yesterday.... Here is his post... On 4/11/2023 at 8:59 AM, DrJack54 said: You will be fine. "this was proven true few minutes ago ????"... Seems his plan is to return visa exempt.
  18. Obtain a Non O based on retirement. Can obtain that in Oz or enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain non O retirement at immigration office. Assume you have Thai bank account in your name only. Here is thread with advice for entering visa exempt to retirement option. https://aseannow.com/topic/1282251-visa-exempt-to-non-o-retirement-dates/
  19. Think have read reports of no problem. Obviously when you hit autofill you need to change the entry date.
  20. You can have Stamps transferred same visit as obtaining extension. CW you can apply for extension up to 45 days early.. Pretty sure the transfer of stamps etc is done at the extension desks (L desks) so you can make an appointment for extension and they will do it same desk. Don't forget letter from embassy, if your embassy provides one. Also notify your bank of change of pp number. BTW:if you had valid non O-A you could exit and reenter and be given a 12 month stamp. Thinking you are on extensions. Regarding the transfer, the visa will not be transferred just information regarding the visa is transferred.
  21. As you stated take the balance up to 800k for two months prior to application. Also have wife attend immigration office with you.. You should not require a TM30 as your address has not changed. Have your most recent TM47 receipt with you. Thread here.... https://aseannow.com/topic/1290794-switch-non-imm-o-extension-from-marriage-to-retirement/
