That is correct. That is basically what I have posted in earlier threads. No sure when they stopped. There is current thread just started now stating that USA will also stop providing the letter. Unrelated but be aware that Oz embassy in Bangkok also do not provide letter that can be used in lieu of certificate of residence.

divorced but staying on marriage visa

When the extension (based on marriage) was about to expire you changed to "based on retirement" ? You were lucky since normally the wife would need to attend immigration with you. -
Extension of stay to visit Thai Child?
DrJack54 replied to FarAway's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Bit left field ....did you consider doing a TM30 change of address in order to use CW instead of Nonthaburi. -
We fly to Osaka twice a year and yes flight out of Japan always asked for. Thai gf is given 15 days visa exempt stamp.. Info for others taking a Thai national to Japan....the airline is very strict on counting the days in Japan. Strangely day 1 count for Japan starts the day after you arrive.

@CapraIbex First up there is no time limit apart from doing the transfer of stamps prior to immigration doing the extension. Can be done on same visit. However in the past sometimes Jomtien made you come back at certain time such as "come back after 3pm" or " come back tomorrow" My advice would be to do the transfer early doors as to not complicate the extension process.

Not familiar with that office. Hopefully there is access to photocopy machine as some offices go over the top with required pp pages. Assume you can provide TM30 screenshot from hotel or similar. This is often required. -

Changing visa in Thailand
DrJack54 replied to Deerculler's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Obtain a Non O based on retirement. Can obtain that in Oz or enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain non O retirement at immigration office. Assume you have Thai bank account in your name only. Here is thread with advice for entering visa exempt to retirement option. https://aseannow.com/topic/1282251-visa-exempt-to-non-o-retirement-dates/ -
You can have Stamps transferred same visit as obtaining extension. CW you can apply for extension up to 45 days early.. Pretty sure the transfer of stamps etc is done at the extension desks (L desks) so you can make an appointment for extension and they will do it same desk. Don't forget letter from embassy, if your embassy provides one. Also notify your bank of change of pp number. BTW:if you had valid non O-A you could exit and reenter and be given a 12 month stamp. Thinking you are on extensions. Regarding the transfer, the visa will not be transferred just information regarding the visa is transferred.

As you stated take the balance up to 800k for two months prior to application. Also have wife attend immigration office with you.. You should not require a TM30 as your address has not changed. Have your most recent TM47 receipt with you. Thread here.... https://aseannow.com/topic/1290794-switch-non-imm-o-extension-from-marriage-to-retirement/
