You friend already had a non O previously so agent provided service to cover the financial requirements to obtain 12 month extension. If in future he wants to change back to DYI then he can seek advice from forum. I notice that friend had option to change to based on retirement to based on marriage. The financials are far easier for marriage and can be used after extension granted. He could have brought time by obtaining 60 extension to visit wife, but that's all water under the bridge.

So even without the 30 day extension to visa exempt (Nov) with a 60 to visit wife you are covered for next 3 months. Umm

OP, there is no grace period. You would be on overstay. The 7 day agent mentioned is not a grace period . You could apply for extension knowing it will be rejected and immigration will stamp 7 days to exit Thailand. For clarity: do you want to end your current stay. Planning to return to home country? If it's to buy time you could obtain 60 day extension to visit wife if have not obtained one previously

That should be possible. Do not follow the immigration officer on this . I read a similar report recently but cannot find it.. Think maybe Ubon Ratchathani Seems folk trying to follow plan you outlined should check with their immigration office. For offices that allow it then you apply for 30 day extension followed by the 60 to visit wife.

It's a concern. Places such as Savannakhet etc requiring payment to be made at consulate. No online payment available. Ridiculous. Also we don't have clear indication of how long the process will take. Anything longer than 5 days is unpleasant to say the least. Don't see an easy solution.

The agents you dealt with are covering the financial requirements You indicate that you don't want that so ignore that part of your research. You can change what your non O is based on so in other words no need to exit Thailand. Here is a thread. Tod Daniels is second post. Suggest you avoid the idea of exit to Laos and obtain eVisa Non O retirement. It comes in start of 2025 and would like to see process times for the eVisa.. Note if you change what extension is based on to retirement that funds in bank do Not need to shown to come from abroad. Seems you have done lot of research. Indeed you can both can live in Thailand on extensions retirement using money in the bank. Alternatively your wife can piggyback on your extension based on retirement as dependent spouse. A left field plan B is to exit Thailand and reenter with 60 day visa exempt and obtain a Non O retirement and subsequent extensions at local immigration office. You make 90 report in person sound like dropping in for a coffee. Clearly your immigration office is not anything like Bangkok.. The immigration officers are not the issue. Just volume

That came into effect June 2020. Recently did back flip to try and sync online reporting with TM30. Ineptitude

You are dealing with offices in the sticks. The OP specifically mentioned CW. Test your walking stick and breathing and politeness at CW and report back.

Personally I don't put it onto the immigration officers. More that Thailand has some ridiculous requirements for expats for ongoing living here. TM30 and TM47 are two standout examples Ludicrous if immigration thinks this actually provides "tracking" to assist with good guys in bad out...

The guy you quoted deals with Kamphaeng Phet. The OP is dealing with CW. The guy you quoted with mobility and breathing issues would have VERY different report if dealing with CW. The carpark to immigration office would be major task. The system is broken

The online 90 day reporting is a broken system. Best thing that occured in recent years (June 2020) was that TM30 was no longer required for stays in another provience or travel abroad. Only for change of address. So now we have reports concerning online reports. Seems down to marrying TM30 with online reporting. I'm not about to deal with broken system. No TM30 or TM47 reporting for me. Same address for 12+ years and travel often including abroad. Will cop 2000b fine for next annual extension end 2025 happily for not filing TM47..
