  1. In other words not "unlimited" Folk with multiple visa exempt entries can/will be questioned by immigration (esp airports) Those that visit with little time between the visits may be advised to obtain a visa. You stated ... "...for a total of <180 days and intend to do same in 2025 and beyond " Can understand the safe approach of obtaining a tourist eVisa however under 180 days over several visits should not be an issue visa exempt entries
  2. The 2 entry limit per calendar year via Land was removed earlier this year. (June?) There is no stated limit on number of entries per year via air
  3. I assume you previously obtained a Tourist eVisa. Can't imagine anyone obtaining a tourist eVisa when visa exempt provides same 60 day permission of stay and both can be extended by 30 days. The threads discussing eVisa and changes in places such as Laos is of interest to folk looking for eg Non O. No one will be applying for a tourist eVisa. Note: visa exempt entries are not unlimited.
  4. Financial requirements are retrospective. When you apply for next extension immigration will look back on previous 12 months. I assume you do not have "income letter" from your embassy. Edit: just checked your posts. USA. So yes you need to do what I outlined in my first post. That seems to fly opposite to almost every other person living ongoing in Thailand extensions from a non O-A. Some guys continue with the non O-A and obtain the extension based on marriage as insurance is not required. Not married to Thai then extensions require insurance.
  5. Merry Christmas. I have only been to Canada once and stayed Prince Albert. Not many folk know that joint. Calgary Flames Yay ☺️
  6. Changing from money in bank method to income you will need to maintain the 800k in bank for 3 months after current extension and simultaneously commence the monthly transfers of 65k. This is to show 12 monthly transfers at time of next extension. BTW: did you not consider option to kill off the non O-A and change to non O..
  7. Surprised Ubon office will not provide 60 day extension to visit wife from visa exempt entry. Here is a cut/paste from ubonjoe.. "You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. It does not matter what visa you used for entry. It can even be applied for to extend a visa exempt entry"
  8. That's a good place to obtain TDL. I renewed from 2 to 5 year license in June 2023. Posted several times in this thread . https://aseannow.com/topic/1296659-driving-lisence-renewal-walk-ins-avaliable/ There is handy "shop" for the medical certificate. My first post in this thread has map to medical. https://aseannow.com/topic/1340054-driving-license-mor-chit/
  9. By "main" you are referring to Chatuchak transport office?
  10. TM7. So you are applying for 30 day extension to the visa exempt entry OR 60 day extension to visa wife. Both use TM7 The TM47 is used for 90 day reports
  11. What you outlined that you currently have should be sufficient to obtain COR. Which immigration office? Regarding your TDL yes you will need a COR also medical Where are you renewing license?
  12. Offensive (language) post removed. Continue that style of posing and warning applied.
  13. Thread closed at OP request.
  14. That's all well and good. Some offices do home visit every extension . Also from post couple above yours.. .,..."they wanted photos on the bed" You happy with that, then fine. (He means sit on the bed for photo) How demeaning
  15. Two completely separate things. The folk wanting eVisa would be for a Visa eg Non O marriage/retirement. A border bounce for 60 day stamp from visa exempt entry is a different animal. Unrelated
  16. The 2013 is out of date. Things changed dramatically in recent times. Your Welsh neighbor experience is atypical. Don't know vaguely what you mean by "as a guarantee" The OP is married and still has no success. Which bank and where was your neighbor successful. Did he purchase insurance
  17. And what year did you obtain this bank account. Were you on visa exempt status at the time?
  18. "Bit of an imposition" for YOU. "No Go" for ME.. I would find that ridiculous and demeaning. Also the witness thing (if required) I wouldn't be happy with. As I stated previously...to each their own
  19. Different strokes for different folks. I regard myself as the friendly type at places such as bars etc. however as far as some random official coming to do a home visit that's a No No for me. In any event I think the OP has decided not to do Non O extensions marriage..
  20. I understood what you meant. In particular Non O popular at places in Laos... Savannakhet and Vientiane. Hopefully the process time will be under 5 days. Anything much longer would become unattractive option. Moreso as there is option to border bounce and obtain the Non O in Thailand from visa exempt entry. The added kicker is that seems no online payment possible for the eVisa in Laos as least in initial months.
  21. You are comfortable with what your office requires so stick with that. My point is that does not apply across the board. Good summary from @Tod Daniels from another forum. Note the word SOME "The 400K baht banked money method for proof of funds for an extension based on marriage to a thai need to be in the bank account for 2 months before you apply for the extension. SOME offices request you keep the funds in the account during the under consideration period (but this is not a posted requirement). After that you can do what you want with the money as long as it's back to 400K baht 2 months before your next yearly extension"
  22. Think you won't find any written rule about maintaining the 400k during the under consideration period. What you will find is various immigration offices having their "rules" Here is one random post from thread one year back. " Cecil Right. Each renewal of my marriage visa I had to show 400k when picking up the stamp a month later. And one can hear the officers say the same to other applicants: leave the money in the bank until you get your visa approved" On other hand you will find many posts that it's not required at "their office" You have posted in few previous threads that your office does not have this requirement. On the rare occasion that head office would require something extra its best advised to maintain the 400k till final stamp is in pp. Edit: sorry for oversized font and bold type. I did not do that
  23. Here is a cut and paste from typical sources.... "As of November 2024, visa-exempt nationals of 93 countries entering Thailand will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for each trip". The ETA is only required for visa exempt entry. Still in the pipeline. That will be you as for such a short stay you would enter visa exempt. (it's not visa on arrival it's visa exempt) Currently visa exempt provides 60 day stamp. I would keep an eye on things. It will be simple online thing if/when it's introduced. If you have an return/onward flight for your visit that will be helpful for airline at departure. Some guesswork in recent thread on ETA https://aseannow.com/topic/1344826-the-thai-eta-electronic-system-for-travel-authorisation/
  24. So bottom line: you obtained extension. Also OP is not dealing with Hat Yai. You ran into a nutter on a particular day and received extension. How did home visit go?
