  1. That's the current stay AFTER 9 months on METV. Amazing. So your plan is a SETV from Laos? Good luck with that. Reminds me of ancient series called "outer limits" If you still have visa exempt land borders available then that would be better option. Check out threads Nong Khai border bounce.
  2. What long is the current "stint" based on what? Tourist Visa or....and for how long after the STV.
  3. You will be stamped in till 2nd May. After which you cannot obtain an extension. You state ..."not renew" ... You mean will not obtain a 12 month extension. Prior to May 2 you would need to exit Thailand and return for visa exempt entry or obtain a tourist visa etc. Depends how long you wish to stay. Your planning was bit off. You could ask the io at airport at arrival in Thailand to overlook your reentry permit and give you a 30 day visa exempt stamp. Good option as you can then obtain 30 day extension
  4. Which immigration office? The cartoon stamp is ridiculous. Jomtien had a 3 month report back which was also a joke and not enforced.
  5. You missed post from @OJAS.. Couple of posts prior to asking about the 30 days ..he posted this "the only practical option now open to you is to do a border run before Friday (7th), returning to Thailand with a 30-day visa exemption (reduced from 45 days since 1 April)" Stop trolling me it's boring and now on ignore.
  6. So Songkran is a new thing. Online banking not possible while you were sick. In any event your options are clear.
  7. 30 days. You are not aware of days for visa exempt entry via land. Prior to April 1 it was 45 days. Pretty much common knowledge.
  8. Read through your thread.. Don't get it. You seem well aware of various requirements such as photos for kids at school for changing to support of Thai child etc..... Then posts above from @OJAS you point out songkran holidays will cause issues. So you didn't manage to season the funds but start a thread pointing out holes in some suggestions. Clearly you are aware of your options. Deal with it.
  9. It's not true. Your idea of 6 visa exempt entries via air and perhaps a 30 day extension to each would provide 12 month stay in Thailand without ever obtaining a visa or using land entry. You would end being refused entry. Very strange thread OP get a METV
  10. May be of some interest to OP. Yesterday I rented out a condo for year lease to a USA guy. His job....digital nomad. Lives in Thailand with extensions to non O retirement. His business has nothing to Thailand and no Thai clients. No problem.
  11. You certainly had a helpful io. Do you have home visits? Strangely, that's one thing that would do my head in. Can understand many saying that it's no big deal. I wouldn't appreciate it.
  12. That's a good outcome and played out as some posts suggested. As pointed out above the maximum fine for overstay is 20k. However there are various ban periods also. Keep in mind that what happened in your situation was for "short overstay" If it had been more significant eg 3 weeks then best approach would have been to exit via air asap and pay overstay at airport.
  13. True. However his immigration office is CM so required 21 days. Still possible. Just pointing out to the OP.
  14. Some have and still received the final stamp. Sometimes with a warning. What's the issue. That desperate?
  15. You have couple of posts above that suggest it's not problem. I vaguely recall that you cannot enter via land or sea with eVisa. I did a search but not definitive. This topic has come up few times. Just my take on it: Think the intention was to apply for eVisa to Thailand from your own country. When you Google ..I read some examples .... Just one from the Netherlands consulate where it states that you are expected to be in that country during the application process. Thinking it's a loophole some are attempting to use. One report of UK guy obtaining eVisa for Thailand while he was in Turkey. Entered Thailand with connecting flight at Singapore. No problem..
  16. It's advised that you keep the 400k in your account during the under consideration period.. Having said that I have never read a report of that making final stamp not possible. It's always been a waring from io.
  17. Work online with O/S clients no issue. If you are 50+ obtain a non O based on retirement with annual extensions. If younger check out BOI visa options. Few threads regarding that.
  18. It's not an automatic extension. What he meant was that you can apply for 30 day extension and there is no reason why it would be refused. Cost 1900baht. After that another application for 60 day extension "to visit wife" is and option. Again 1900baht
  19. For extension based on marriage only 400k in bank for two months prior to application for extension and maintained durning under consideration period. If the financial requirements were the same for marriage and retirement NO ONE would extend based on marriage from a non O . The only group that would still opt for based on marriage is the folk doing extensions from a non O-A to avoid the insurance requirement.
  20. Where is it incorrect. Do you miss this part of my post. I stated the following.... "Suggest you chat with your immigration office. They might overlook the error."
  21. Bit depends on how much longer you wish to stay in Thailand. The two visa exempt entries via land with extensions gives you 4 months. It you are in loas trying for a second tourist visa not silly idea. If rejected the stamp wouldn't/shouldn't prevent land border entry.
  22. Well the dots are a long way apart but he means from a visa exempt or tourist visa entry apply for a non O retirement. That would give a 90 day stamp.
