What on earth is TM30 ?!
DrJack54 replied to AndrewMciver's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A Non O-A provides a 2 year stay and does not require funds to be maintained in a Thai bank account. Suits some folk that visit home country at minimum every two years. The insurance is a pain but certainly the non O-A suits some folk. -
It is possible however not best option imo. He has time to obtain one year of insurance when he arrives. Then exit and reenter Thailand prior to non O-A expiry Sept 10 and will be given 12 month stamp. No financial requirements. The other alternative is to exit and kill off the non O-A and obtain non O and subsequent extension. No insurance requirements.

Bank Letter for Immigration (Income method)
DrJack54 replied to Daffy D's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think you will be fine if the monthly transfers have been for previous 12 months prior to your next extension. You would need bank statements for 12 months and code showing international transfer. Which bank do you use. Here is thread with clear advice from ubonjoe. https://aseannow.com/topic/1270868-combo-method-for-the-money-requirement-for-a-retirement-visa-extension/ -
Ignore the notice and do it online in 75 days from date of entry. When you use autofill in the online report remember to change your entry date

Bit of a mess as he is flying tomorrow. You are correct he will only be stamped in till Sept 30. He could immediately obtain health insurance and exit and reenter Thailand prior to Sept 10 and be given 12 month stamp. OR he could (as you outlined) exit Thailand at end of his non O-A and enter Thailand visa exempt then obtain non O and subsequent extension

Retirement visa in country

Forget the non O-A. Here is thread re enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain a non O retirement and subsequent extension. https://aseannow.com/topic/1297092-non-o-visa-retirement-purpose/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1282251-visa-exempt-to-non-o-retirement-dates/ -

Tourist Visa Advice
DrJack54 replied to kevozman1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is incorrect info. You are allowed 2 visa exempt via land border per calendar year. Each visa exempt entry provides 30 day stamp that can be extended by 30 days. There are many options for your plans. Just one example is enter via air visa exempt and obtain an extension= 60 days. Then do your two border bounces + extensions= 120 days. 6 month. OR take mini break to place such as Saigon instead of border bounce and reenter visa exempt via air. -
Reentry permit at Don Mueang Airport
DrJack54 replied to OzMan's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes. Just the other side of immigration (passport check) is reentry permit desk. Very quick process. You can see the office as io is stamping you out. The io seeing your stamp may tell you that you need to obtain a reentry permit. Good idea to have the TM8 all filled out along with photo. -

Hopefully someone can post personal experience and outline the process they went through to obtain a Non O-X in Thailand. -
Converting from Non-IMM O to Non-IMM OX
DrJack54 replied to Mike Teavee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, some info in this thread. Ubonjoe posts only available from Thai embassies or consulates. Despite some links stating otherwise. They are a very rare visa with good reason.. -
It's possible, depending on dates. You would require a reentry permit. I would not recommend it. What's so important to exit during approx one month under consideration period. Not a good plan. If very important I would discuss with your immigration office your plan. Have you previously used your one 60 day extension to visit wife. That could change under consideration window

"Key Visa" - are these guys any good?
DrJack54 replied to bbi1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Couple of positives is that your gf not 20 also one year relationship. It is possible for Loa to obtain visa for Oz while in Thailand. For sure you will need an agent. Thinking best for you to do personal visits to the many good agents in Pattaya. Also you being in 30,s you need to demonstrate ability to support her stay. Not only that (in my case 10yr back) you need to wack some money in a her Thai bank account, which I think you posted that she does not have. If I was looking at application would be a reject. "No compelling reason to Return" to Thailand. -

Age and length of relationship. There is a previous thread re same question (also lao gf) Will post it tomorrow. I first did this 10 years ago for Thai partner. I didn't use agent. Are you located in Pattaya?. You require an agent. -
3-day hotel booking ok for SETV from Laos?
DrJack54 replied to steve0101's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Like your post. Just underlying your point. When planing a stay similar recipe to the OP....The SETV should have been applied for after his FIRST visa exempt entry (land) . In worst case of tourist visa denied he could enter on his second visa exempt. Ace up the sleeve so to speak. As for if denied What Next. He would need to enter via air. Perhaps CM being his best gamble. Or fly to another country eg Vietnam and consider next step. -

Think Darren was the backstay of that operation. Passed now. Try Maneerat Soi 13/2 (Soi post office)
