Reentry permit office is just other side of passport control at DMK. You can see the office just behind io. You do not need to tell io that you are obtaining a reentry permit, but good manners if you have long extension. Saves him time of reminding you. Best to have the TM8 all filled in (with photo) ready to hand over with the basic photocopies of pp. I like to have the exact baht. 1000/3800.

Extend visa in arrival only once?
DrJack54 replied to Kammie's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Each entry with a tourist visa or visa exempt can be extended by 30 days. Example currently a border bounce and reenter visa exempt would give a 45 day stamp and that can be extended by 30 days at your immigration office. Be aware only 2 visa exempt entries via land per calendar year. In theory visa exempt entries via air unlimited. However continual back to back is not an option. -
exempt to Non-O retirement in Pattaya
DrJack54 replied to L0St's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not a requirement to show money came from abroad for extensions. Is a requirement for non O retirement obtained in Thailand. -
You could obtain another 45 day stamp with an exit and reenter visa exempt. Be aware that you can also obtain a 30 day extension at immigration office in. Thailand. To obtain your non O you require 800k in a Thai bank account in your name only on the day you apply. That gives you a 90 day stamp and in the last 30 days you can obtain 12 month extension. Be aware that when you apply for the non O you need 15 days remaining on your permission of stay. Also for the non O you need to demonstrate the 800k came from abroad. If organized you can obtain the non O in the 45 days from your visa exempt entry. Do you have Thai bank account?

No need. When a mod notices your request in the thread it will be closed. I notice you did request earlier. Anyway think your questions have been covered. You can work out what is best option. -

You can only do TWO visa exempt entries via land border per calendar year. -

Understand. Guessing that would be agent that has particular contact with an io. All good. In fact good option. Not available everywhere. -

Where do you do this and name of agent. That does occur but normally when dealing direct with immigration. Not the norm for majority of agent facilitated extensions. -

Every agent provides both. As I posted Then you ask me...... "Please provide data from Immigration stating no-one has ever been deported due to failing to meet financial requirements." You are the one that stated that indeed it occurs. So post link to when it occurred. There are literally MANY MANY folk using agents that do not meet the financials. -

Again so wrong. Ongoing extensions based on retirement would be approx 15k baht. Also you state..... "A compliant IO is bribed to look the other way, and in any case can always fall back on the official excuse of exercising discretion" You are spitting out bar stool chat. Clearly do not understand the options. -

DrJack54 replied to Padthaigoong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ridiculous. Most agents offer various "levels of service". That can be hand holding document organization through to obtaining (for example) extensions based on retirement without satisfying the financials. You mention deportation... Please provide link to ONE using reputable agent. -

Clearly advertised. Even by a sponsor of AseanNow. From another post of yours above. "Some are, some are not. Yes, if you actually go to immigration, chances are it's legal. If you don't have to go in person, it's highly illegal and you could be jailed, unlikely but you never know"..... This is seriously Dreamworld. Post link to someone jailed using reputable agent. -

I was wondering if this could be just one post where you did not mention Thai citizenship. But alas not to be. Your post regarding agents is very naive. -

What bit didn't you understand. I stated ...... "Think you will find it is an "optional extra" " Of course it depends on the agent along with client. Same as reentry permit etc -

Pretty succinct summary. Perhaps one slightly more culpable. -
So how does that work for the MANY that do not live "relatively near" ......geez.

Everytime advice is given to folk asking about agents is... Rule #1 ...Always deal with a well know agent. Two random examples would be ThaivisaCenter in Bangkok. Maneerat in Pattaya etc. Many others. -

DrJack54 replied to Padthaigoong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Would not change things. Your earlier post stating that you might revisit idea of border runs etc. Not a long term solution. Be aware that MANY folk living long term in Thailand use agents. Don't listen to the negative posts about this option. They have axe to grind. For the record I don't use an agent however as father time catches up it is firmly on my radar. -

No worries. If you are staying at a hotel and they have filed a TM30 they can provide you with screenshot of the report.
