  1. As pointed out above... Even if you were currently in Vientiane you wouldn't bother obtaining SETV, you would enter visa exempt as currently you receive a 60 day stamp.
  2. So clearly you know the procedure. At LakSi the chicks handing out the que # do a doc check. Often sending you away if no TM30. Suggest that you take a photocopy of screenshot of TM30
  3. The "wife's blue book and yellow book" not required. Re bank account... which immigration office? You are entering with non O and you may be able to open a bank account. Suggest you try Kasikorn.
  4. Indeed. OP can book appointment here. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/onlineservice-and-publicguide/
  5. What is your point. You have an opinion as do I. Time will tell. Opposite to ridiculous. My understanding is that temporary boost during low season. High season sensible time to remove this recent concession IMO if visa exempt 60 days is permanent then all visa options such as SETV, METV, etc would require serious change as basically obsolete.
  6. The unlimited border exempt thinking could be ongoing. No so sure re stamp being 60 days. Perhaps back to 30 days within 6 months.
  7. Mentioned by OP in this May thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1328261-renewing-my-uk-passport-at-vfs-bangkok-end-of-june/
  8. You can bounce Nong Khai same day. Personally since you are located in Bangkok return flight to Udon Thani would be my choice. That would give you 60 days that you could extend by 30. That would cover you till almost end of October. So you may not even require the 30 extension. You mention Vietnam. Hard to beat Saigon for time out of Thailand.
  9. OP, you receive 30 day extension. You could consider a border bounce for 60 day visa exempt entry that can also be extended by 30 days. Depends how long you wish to stay in Thailand. You will attend IT mall LakSi
  10. For plan B you would need to reenter after expiry of multi reentry permit. Please advise what immigration has to say. Can't see them allowing switch to based on retirement in the circumstances that you have outlined.
  11. So do you have a 12 month extension with a multi reentry permit OR a multi entry non O visa
  12. Good idea. Assuming you are 50+ suggest as plan B to exit Thailand without reentry permit prior to current permission of stay and reenter visa exempt. Currently provides 60 day stamp. Then apply for non O based on retirement. Season the funds and obtain 12 month extension.
  13. Out of interest...what does the 12 month insurance policy cost. I realize it varies by age etc
  14. I thought it was possible at some immigration offices with double the amount however best to follow ubonjoe advice in attached thread. You could check with you immigration office however thinking it's a no. https://aseannow.com/topic/1192029-extension-of-visa-using-a-joint-bank-account/?do=findComment&comment=15998760
  15. That is not the case at all. There is no limit to visa exempt entries via air. Does that mean someone can live in Thailand by using back to back continuous visa exempt entries. Answer No. You like a few others are not understanding what has changed here. The "2 land border entries per calendar year rule" has been removed. That's it. Living ongoing in Thailand on visa exempt entries will not work.
  16. None of your posts make sense. Yes you can border bounce to any land border and reenter visa exempt. What does that achieve. Your non O would be killed off and you could apply for non O based on retirement at local immigration office using TM87. Subsequently you could apply for 12 months extension. What is the point of your posts
  17. Then fine. Provide the TM6 to immigration. For the border crossings that do no do TM6 those folk will not provide it.
  18. And if you had entered at land border that does not do TM6 then you would just inform her. If you had entered via air you would not have a TM6. A 60 day extension? Must have been based on visit Thai wife/family?
  19. He won't require a TM6 for things such as extension, TM47 etc Can't see them reintroducing it at airports and thinking all land border entries will not require TM6
  20. What does Cambodia have to do with anything. With no limit on visa exempt land border entries means little for continuous living in Thailand. Read the entire thread to try and understand what it's discussing. BTW you would not be "changing back to extensions" You would need to apply for new non O visa and subsequent 12 month extension
  21. Some land borders are not requiring TM6 https://www.tatnews.org/2023/11/thailand-suspends-tm6-form-at-sadao-immigration-checkpoint/
